Blacks look encouraging too, bring on more pics

Does S1 have NeoPDP?

edit: the EU version is listed as 30.000:1 (and doesnt mention Neopdp)
http://panasonic.net/avc/viera/eu/product/s_plasma.html

The US version 40.000:1 and says Neopdp
http://panasonic.net/avc/viera/us/product/s_plasma.html

the pictures sure looks amazing. I hope Panasonic get huge success so they continue forever

Yes it's supposed to be the first Neo out.

Are the THX colors only for Cinema mode or all modes?

My brother ordered the the G10 this morning for Thursday pickup. If I like his, I will take it from him and make him take the 5020. LOL

I just have to know about the brightness claims. My guess is everything else is quite good. If the brightness is there coupled with crisp whites, my brother will be assaulted and robbed.

The S1 IS the first Panny display with the NEO panel.

Okay, how about some more movie shots (not animation) and some hockey to evaluate?

nice pics - seems like standard mode looks better - even blacks darker - not as much detail as in Cinema - but i would have figured Cinema to be the darker look -

if you can take any night time shots - in total darkness with no picture to see how the screen looks etc. - and with movie pics -

thanks - its a nice looking set

OTA

FYI That is from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It is a paper can of scouring power.

crazy nice shots marka04.

Have you ever seen a Kuro in real life marka04, for you opinion on the difference? The colors and luminance looks better than the kuro pics I've seen.

According to the G10 manual and a CNET article the G series will also feature 24p playback if this is of interest to you. Whether the flicker issue from last yrs models has been addressed remains to be seen.

In the Cinema pic do you have color temp on warm or normal? I'm guessing warm by the yellow tone to the picture.

The Bruins logo on the shot with the goaltender looks pretty outstanding. Don't know if you have done much with the settings but either way:

OUTSTANDING!

Thanks for getting those up. Yuu da man!

These pics do look good considering you can see daylight from windows nearby in the bezel.

Night shots are needed because IMO the blacks are not that impressive at all in these pics. there is a big diff where the screen meets the bezel. But to be fair, my 5020 looks like this when near a window with daylight.

And yes, it is quite odd that Cinema looks to be the brighter mode. This would be a first in my limited experience. And the yellow is more prevalent as Stin mentioned.

Most people will be very grateful for pics at night. I know for myself, the most important things I want to know/see are:

1. Whites and overall brightness. Like the white of the text in the score box. Is it brilliant white or dirty off white? Maybe provide a few different modes and discuss your feelings on the brightness and the effect it might have on blacks and whites and what not in the different modes.
2. A pic of black background against the black bezel would be awesome.

Please include modes and settings if you don't mind.

Maybe look to see if you notice any oddities regarding dark scenes where the pixels may go off in the larger dark areas.

Thanks

As a side note. I have found pics to be misleading on whites in general and much more accurate with blacks. My pics of the A650 vs the 5020 were spot on regarding blacks and whites were misleading IMO. Whites looked much closer than they actually were IRL.

Figures, out of all the pics, this one says the most to me so far. Pretty impressive.

How is the motion on the hockey game?

I'm watching the same one on my 5020 and it's leaving me wanting more resolution. A touch blurry to my eyes.

And there will be a TC-50G15 which also has the one sheet of glass design and same thickness as the V10 series, and is slotted between the G10 and V10.
thanks guys, going to check these out.

i saw the post on hdguru with the leaked prices just now. That 54 Z series looks pretty damn nice.

will any of the 42 or 46inch models have the one sheet of glass or just the V and Z (and the 50" G15 that Randy mentioned) series?
wow some of these pictures look pretty darn good for not even having the settings changed yet!

Will the G15 have the same upgraded internal speakers as the V10 or will it suffer with the same weak G10 speakers?
Those hockey shots look really good. Nice looking whites. Somehow I think one of these 12G Panasonics will be my next TV down the road.

Must... have more..... pics....

I asked the same question way back in the big "2009 Panasonic 12G Lineup" thread but nobody knew for sure, and i'm still not sure. The G15 is listed on Panasonic's Ideas For Life CES USA webpage, and the HD Guru, who usually only reviews North American models, says the G15 will start shipping in June. It seems to be based on the V10 series so if it does hit the US, i presume it will be in the next wave of new releases in June along with the smaller V10 sizes.

That looks bright, alittle too bright. Blacks look really good imo. Put it in Cinema please?

This is going to sell well.

well the blacks levels looking the way they do go hand in hand with the camera too along with the black crush. these look just like the kuro pictures thread, and those are decieving also.

Here's the best I can do with my camera. I'm having a tough time getting decent shots of the night scenes. I'm definitely not a videophile, but to me the blacks look really good. So far no complaints with the set. The shots are with everything at 50 except tint.

Those pictures are magnificent. The Bruins' goalie and the city shot of the parking lot are about as good as it gets as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the effort.
