Eurogamer reports that, in addition to what they call Hard Rock Van Halen, Activision is releasing Guitar Hero V, Band Hero, another Guitar Hero On Tour for the Nintendo DS, and DJ Hero.

every single one stand alone and inoperable with each other just great. run that franchise right into the ground.

Don't forget Guitar Hero: Metallica, out soon.

I knew this was eventually going to happen...

Oh yeah, and there's the GH: Greatest Hits disc.

Let's just say I'm glad I like the gameplay of RB over GH anyway.

Van Halen? Do you get to choose between Dave or Sammy?
Activision is trying their hardest to kill this franchise, aren't they? I suspect I will buy about 0 of them, after being so disappointed with GH:WT.
you'd think you would have learned after buying GH3.
I guess there weren't enough GH:Aerosmith, GH3, and RB bundles sitting idly on store shelves.

Even worse, you select EVH and have to pick guitar or SYNTH.

Well I got GH:WT on a Toys R Us "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" deal, so at least I didn't waste any money on it.

Still feel like I overpaid, though.

I think activision is king of running things into the ground.
Anyone know what Tony Hawk there on now? I they must have passed the 10 mark.

I haven't bought a Hero since 2, I mean its just differnt songs right>

3 was basically just new songs + an inane versus mode.

4/WT added the drums and vocals(which rock band had already done) and rudimentary create a song feature.

now it looks like there's just minor differences and some new songs.

Not counting the downhill jams and GB titles the last one was 9. But they actually didn't release one last year because skate. destroyed Tony Hawk so badly. Serves them right.

The CEO of Activision said that they have 2000 people working on Guitar Hero. Yes two thousand people.

So obviously this crap has to come out. I guess Activision's biggest regret with Tony Hawk was they didn't churn out more garbage faster.

Good gawd! Talk about AquaNet overload!

My first concert was Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. Platform shoes, effect pedals, and a cape. I followed it up with Cal-Jam 2.

It looks like the re-charting for "Greatest Hits" involves acommodating master tracks as well as features of the new guitar. If they add velocity hits and rolls for the drums, and open-notes for bass this could be an interesting change of pace for a good setlist.

I'm sure somebody out there is looking forward to TTFATF on drums - not me. Maybe it will have double-kick support?

New sound samples for the music creator are on the way, from the ign article/interview.

(FYI, Cinderella & BON JOVI \\m/ )

I don't think Bobby Kotick really understands the concept of "exploiting franchises". I think the goal is to produce a title every year, instead of all of them in a year. One method results in a game series that people will buy and enjoy for many years. The other ensures they're sick to the back teeth of it in 18 months........
