I haven't calibrated a 950 yet.
I have done the '81 series Samsung, the 1st gen local dimming LED, and the Sony XBR8 local dimming LED.
The '81 Sammy was stunning except I could not get accurate colors because it didn't have CMS or color decoding controls, and contrary to a popular published test report it's color decoding was far from accurate. Flesh tones looked off to me (purple/violet), so overall I thought it was promising but flawed.
The XBR8 has good performance overall, but it's local dimming leaves a glow around bright objects, and it is slow acting. In other words, the dimming action looked "damped" and slow to me. A nice set overall and an improvement over conventional LCD, but plenty of room for further improvement.
