Question about the 2009 Panasonic plasmas

I would say that the prices are just a reflection of the advances in the plasma industry and maybe somewhat with the economy. The 09 models, imo, are a dramatic improvement over the 08 models with the neoplasma and the lumen watt output....I have the 09 50S1 and it looks amazing, I really don't want or need THX, and that appears to be the major difference in the S and G series, so if you want THX I would say definately get the 09 G series with the new technology. just as a side note, my brother bought a LG 50" plasma last year that is only 720p and he paid more than I paid for my 1080 S model panny....
