"Castle" on ABC HD - Page 41

I only got about 10 minutes into the last show. Kept thinking to myself how much this sucked when I remembered this thread and how many people said they didn't like this one. Then I switched to something else.

Weird.  Wife and I laughed and enjoyed the whole episode.  It was funny seeing how people ham it up in front of the camera which is totally true.  It was good for us anyway.

My wife and I turned this episode off within the first few minutes. Horrible idea for an episode.

While the episode was indeed different, I had no trouble at all watching, and enjoying, it.

What happened to the episode when his mother & daughter return from where ever they went and find about his relationship??

Wow, count me in the minority group in regards to "Swan Song".

I honestly thought it was very funny. I especially liked (for more reasons than one) when Lanie called them down to the morgue and she had that low cut dress on and was bending over for the camera to see. biggrin.gif

Those were the only bad minutes of the ep. Once the initial couple scenes to work the documentary crew in to the plot the ep got a lot better.

Put me in the (growing) camp of people who really enjoyed this episode. I thought it was very funny. Granted, I thought the capt. was ridiculously over-the-top in her behavior and even Lanie was laying it on too thick w/ her behavior in that low-cut top scene, IMO. I cringed a bit during some of those scenes.

I didn't have a problem with the rest of them, however. I liked how Beckett was uncomfortable throughout the episode, except for that one very brief moment in the interrogation room where she gave a smirkingly knowing sideways glance at the camera, relishing the attention for just a second, before getting back to business.

I could understand this one not necessarily being everyone's favorite, but I certainly don't think this episode warranted shutting off after a few minutes or whatever. Jeez what an overreaction. IMO, obviously. You're entitled to your own differing opinions. I guess. tongue.gif

There are no missing episodes. We are back on track.

IIRC, mother saw Beckett leaving. Don't remember how. Would have to review the episode to determine that. As for Alexis, not sure how she found out, other than grandma telling here. Again, a review is required.

If that was the case, I must of blinked my eyes at the time since I never saw anything. Major, not thought out lack of a script for a full episode. I can't believe they blew by a major part of the story line. It seemed to be a no big deal.

The episode where his co workers (detectives) find out was also poorly done. The announcement was buried within the overall plot of that episode. Again, the writers dropped the ball. Both could and should of comprised of a single episode for each situation, or at lest be combined into one.

A real let down, twice. mad.gif

On another note, the "documentary" was not just different, but funny, thought they could of lost the 'shaky camera' routine which was annoying.

Posted this a while back.

I forget what she said and it's no longer on my DVR, but I believe there was an "Oh please, Richard" from his mom, because it was so obvious that she saw Beckett. (obvious in her mind)

It was the episode with a storage unit auction, I believe.

It does seem a little strange they didn't spend much time on it. Maybe they wanted to avoid the trope.

My recollection is about the same.

In one episode, Beckett hid in a closet, and as far as we could tell, they pulled it off. Mom gave no indication she had seen anything.

In the next episode, Castle was trying to backpeddle on whether he was involved with Beckett, and Mom said something like "Oh please, Richard, a mother knows these things."

I completely missed any of that. Real stupidy to blow off long coming event that was building for years like it was nothing.
Ok, how about the daughter, when/where did she find out?

Thanks for that, I never got any answer when I originally asked. Maybe I'm not the only one who missed it. wink.gif

The show didn't really explain. One episode she didn't know, the next she did. I assumed Grandma told her, but they didn't explicitly address it. We learned the backstory on Mom knowing, and the next time we saw Alexis, she knew too.

I was OK with it; it more or less fit the whole family dynamic of his household. Different strokes. However, it was very low key. If you blinked at the wrong time (or got a beer), you missed it.

There was an exchange between Castle and his mom in episode 2 or 3 in which he tells her about his relationship with Kate. She brushes off what he tells her as old news, and reveals she saw Kate sneak out of the apartment (the scene from episode one of this season).

Yep, I must of blinked my eye. rolleyes.gif

Another funny episode.

The little birdie has told not to blink, or look away, when the series logo is displayed tonight.

I hate when the birdie teases me and doesn't explain in detail what it is. eek.gif

I'll tell you:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The pen that flies down to make part of the "A" is a candy cane.

Not a bad episode. Given the season, it's designed to give castle's character plenty to play with and ends with...
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
the usual holiday-style you-see-it-coming-miles-away ending.

I didn't really need to spoiler tag that because it really doesn't spoil the main plot. So, you don't find out whodunit by looking at that. But if you want to know NOTHING, then leave it.
OK, I had to see, so I had the birdie send me some screencaps of the title sequence.

I put them together in a single image.

Nice job on their part.

I thoroughly enjoyed last night's Christmas show. It had just enough mystery to keep it interesting from that standpoint, but the holiday theme and the lighthearted interaction with everyone made it one of my favorite Castle episodes of the season. Being an old softie, I loved the ending(s).

Last night's show was very good. Anyone wonder when Captain Gates is going to spring it on Castle and Beckett that she knows about tbeir relationship?
Yes, I think she knows but can't say anything because if she did, she'd have to tell them to stop.
I thought Castle was going to give the Captain replacements for those two dolls of her that he smashed on the floor. This would've been the perfect time to do it. But that box wasn't nearly big enough, and I don't even remember what was in it, if we even saw. I guess the writers really are going to just drop that storyline, so to speak.

+1! This week's show had a combination of intriguing mystery and sweet Xmas sentimentality, which made it very appealing. I have seldom, if ever, had more fun watching the charming Castle and Beckett do their patented charming stuff.

Great episode! Lol

In other news... Bah humbug.
