"Castle" on ABC HD - Page 43

It's NOT your bad. The rules are the rules. If you don't like them, don't participate, or wait until later to read the posts. It's bad form to come onto a thread and criticize someone for following the rules. Spoilers are always bad form, as was pointed out to me long ago when I posted one. I made it a point to find out what the rule was.

I don't think any of us keep track as to who is, or isn't, behind in viewing this series, or any other series.

It would be a spoiler if someone was able to view an advanced copy of any series and post the details of that advanced copy (other than what has been officially released). Odds are that person would not be getting any further advanced copies after doing that. biggrin.gif

Personally I do not normally see the trailer for the next episode as I do not watch shows via the network affiliate feeds. So, I do not necessarily see the episode right away either. I can't stand snips, commercials and bugs, so I avoid watching what the networks send out.

Commercial free, snipe free and bug free is the only way to watch these shows.

Since you know that, why would you give away a major plot point like that? That seems very inconsiderate.

Before twice unloading invective on other posters, you might consider learning the rules and abiding by them. As you were told, plot points included in previews run at the end of the current episode are, by definition, not spoilers. As such they are fair game for discussion here.

I never claimed that his or her actions were against the rules.

I said that they were inconsiderate---that is, that he or she did not consider that others purposely do not watch the previews.
Sorry to beat this into the ground, but it's not inconsiderate to follow the rules. I think it's inconsiderate to accuse someone of being inconsiderate, if all they're doing is what the rules say is perfectly allowable. If you don't like the rules, don't play the game. The rules need to be unambiguous, and they are. I never, ever hesitate to talk about something I see in a preview.

You beat me to it. Those who don't like the rules are obliged to stay away from the thread for as long as it takes to insure that they don't see anything they don't want to see It seems to me that it is far more inconsiderate to whine in a thread about discussion of a preview of an upcoming show than it was to post about what was seen.

As someone who did the same thing (talking about a preview about a upcoming episode ) that was posted in another thread , I was soundly trounced on by many persons who followed that thread . AND no one spoke up about the fact there is clear rules about spoilers . Was / did I feel picked on ? Heck No ! And I fully stated that fact , a preview is a preview & open to discussion period . One person continued to whine about me every-time I posted in that thread for weeks after . I thought it quite funny , smile.gif that the person would really show such pettiness & childishness behavior . I felt he trying to bait me into a argument , I refused to sink to their level . wink.gif I ignored him tongue.gif

I myself try not to watch the previews but with all the promos that are aired all week about certain shows , it's hard to not see them . But if a person is that sensitive then stay away from the threads .
I have partake'd in many a discussion about previews & we all guessed about how the preview tease might/would pan out. I feel it adds the a appeal of a thread & makes for a enjoyable watch to see If one's guess was gonna be on target ,then being right bragging rights soon ensued biggrin.gif

Thank you.

Back on topic; do you think Becket will get pregnant before the end of the season? biggrin.gif
(No, it's not another spoiler, just trying to return to the topic. wink.gif )
Nope,I think the season ender will be about Castle's Dad
post #1270 of 1333
Good guess, considering it was announced who was playing him. biggrin.gif

The conduct you described of the poster in another thread shows that the poster suffers from an advanced case of the dreaded disease, Spoilerphobia, which we see too much around here. The most common symptom of Spoilerphobia is going out of one's way to find a post the sick person claims is a spoiler, even if it is not. Stage 2 of the disease, which we have also seen here, manifests itself in a poster continuing to whine about a spoiler even after the Spoilerphobia sufferer has been informed that the revelation about which he complained wasn't a spoiler. [RANT]As crazy as the posting of a genuine spoiler can make me, Spoilerphobics, especially those suffering from Stage 2 of the disease, make me twice as crazy.[/RANT]

I agree that the Castle season finale is likely to involve Castle's father.

I think I read on one of the trade rag web sites. Probably TVBizwire from TV Week.

But, ABCMediaNet's synopsis for the episode is as follows:

CASTLE LEARNS THAT ALEXIS' KIDNAPPING COULD BE PART
OF AN EVEN MORE SINISTER AGENDA, ON ABC'S "CASTLE"

James Brolin Guest Stars as Castle's Dad

"Hunt" -- In the powerful conclusion of a two-episode story arc, when the FBI fails to get his daughter back, Castle takes matters into his own hands, reaching out to a shadowy fixer to help him recover Alexis. But Castle soon learns that his daughter's kidnapping may be part of an even more sinister agenda, on "Castle," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET). Emmy and Golden Globe-winner James Brolin ("The West Wing," "Marcus Welby, M.D.") guest stars in the episode as Castle's dad.

"Castle" stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, Penny Johnson Jerald as NYPD Captain Victoria Gates, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, and Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan.

Guest Cast: James Brolin as Castle's dad, Dylan Walsh as FBI Agent Harris, Christopher Heyerdahl as Jacque Henri, Nestor Serrano as Gregory Volkov.

"Hunt" was written by Andrew W. Marlowe and directed by Rob Bowman.

i have to say, i'm impressed with nathan fillion's acting chops. when he confronted the driver to get info from him, he could've easily overacted there. but he played it very well. can't wait for next week smile.gif

I wanna see Fillion go all Liam Neeson on those kidnappers, unfortunately Castle is not that kind of show. biggrin.gif

I always liked the one in Dragnet (The Akroyd/Hanks movie).
Pep Streebeck: [Friday leaves Muzz alone with Streebeck] Well... it's just you... and me... *your balls*...
[pulls open a desk drawer]
Pep Streebeck: and this drawer!

I enjoyed Part 1 of the two part Kidnapping of Alexis episode. It was a little over the top, as most Castle episodes are, but I root so hard for Castle, his family, and Beckett, this week's show was still great fun. No wonder showrunners work hard to find charismatic actors to cast. as regulars:)

First off as to the spoiler thing, we have to give a big thanks to the folks that run this board for updating the software. For years it was difficult to skip a thread involving a show I watch because every time I visited the site it reset the pointers to the latest post, thankfully that happens no more. i was 3 weeks behind on the show and caught up last night. Quickly scanned through the posts and got to the meat.

I think the writers were intentionally vague as to who the actual intended victim is. I don't know why it never crossed anyone's mind that Alexis might have been the target. They have been dropping clues all season about the missing 'Dad", guess we get to find out a bit more now.

As to a pregnancy, funny that thought crossed my mind last night too. I have to believe that will happen on the last show of the series, not a season ender.

Heck, I would settle for him going all Malcolm Reynolds on them. He could even get Adam Baldwin's cop character from last season to help him - Jayne and Mal stopping the bad guys.

Yeah - what he said!biggrin.gif

I haven't seen The Taken movies... but I couldn't stop thinking about this during the last episode... I knew the whole time Christopher Heyerdahl was a bad guy. Too Easy. After the reveal of James Brolin being Castle's dad I had horrible flashbacks of Chuck. Surprised and glad that this isn't the finale because it wouldn't have been a good one. I feel like they need to have a serious moment or something.

I really enjoyed last night's episode. It was a welcome change of pace and a nice diversion from the normal murder of the week.

Castle's 100th Episode

In case you haven't heard/read about the 100th episode of Castle, it is airing on April Fool's Day. biggrin.gif

Here is the official ABC description of the episode:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
CASTLE, STUCK AT HOME WITH A BROKEN LEG, FINDS HIMSELF SUDDENLY THROWN INTO A "REAR WINDOW"-ESQUE MURDER MYSTERY, ON ABC'S "CASTLE"

"The Lives of Others" -- In the show's 100th episode, Castle finds himself in the unfortunate position of NOT being able to work a case. While he's holed up in the loft with a broken leg, Beckett goes off to investigate the death of an IRS agent without him, leaving Castle miserable and bored. But when he thinks he witnesses the murder of a young woman in the apartment across the street, he is thrown into a "Rear Window"-esque murder mystery that hits much too close to home, on "Castle," MONDAY, APRIL 1 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

"Castle" stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, Penny Johnson Jerald as NYPD Captain Victoria Gates, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, and Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan.

Guest Cast: John Griffin as Gavin DeWinter, Raquel Alessi as Selena Rigas, Eric Nenninger as John Dessens, and William DeVry as Dan Renner.

"The Lives of Others" was written by Terri Edda Miller & Andrew W. Marlowe and directed by Larry Shaw.

Was I the only one that got a big laugh out of the wire at the end that was used to cause some kind of magnetic interference?

Ya right. That short piece of wire, with bare clips on each end was going to disrupt power in a power panel for a cabin. biggrin.gif

The power would go out because the main power breaker was switched to off. No "magical" wire needed.

Definitely a "roll eyes" moment. TV writers apparently feel no shame in just making stuff up. Sigh...

Fun episode even though I knew the ending would be boring.
As for the 100th episode, a week from Monday, on April Fool's Day, is not to be missed. My little birdie indicated that the day it is airing is appropriate (though I suspect a coincidence). Unfortunately I couldn't get any other details out of the birdie.

Now I can't wait to see it.

It still irks me that a great series like Castle is still getting shabby treatment when it comes to getting released only on DVD. mad.gif
post #1290 of 1333
On a Castle binge today since I have the day off. The creepy-DVD ep would have been a decent Halloween ep.

Watching the most recent one right now. They say the killer was wearing an IR emitting light and it was an IR camera, but then they shouldn't have seen it in the car when it drove by - IR doesn't pass through normal automobile glass. Okay, the passenger window could have been down.
