"Castle" on ABC HD - Page 47

I became a huge Castle fan over the summer. I watched all 5 seasons and was so looking forward to season 6. The only good part of this season was the first few minutes of the first episode dealing with the proposal. Otherwise, I have been very disappointed with the DC storyline. I am very happy it ended this past episode and I'm hoping they go back to the old formula of solving a murder a week.

I did just about the same thing. I just can't figure how I had missed the show the first 5 years, and my wife watched it all along. Yes, back to a case each week.

Cuddy was only signed for three episodes. As for the "spoiler," it came "live" at approximately 10:59PM EDT Monday night for those of us who watch the show when it's aired. wink.gif

That is what I posted. Since she only had a three episode arc, that meant Beckett quit or was fired. I went with fired.

As for viewing it "live," the earlier "live" is if you watched CTV Sunday night.

Sure, we all knew it wouldn't last and she would end up back with the NYPD, but I didn't think it would happen after 3 episodes. Also, I was betting on her leaving over being fired. They just seemed to be leaning in the direction that she couldn't deal with all the "need to know" nonsense and the fact that numerous times people were let go because it was in the "best interest" of national security. It's not in Beckett's nature to just let people get away with stuff and that would eventually gnaw at her.

Agreed.

Thats the Castle twist.

Are you guys sure she's going back to the NYPD ?
Seems they made a Big point (more than once)of saying that Beckett's desk was now the new guy's desk .
Kate could go all "Moonlighting" on us with Castle doing a Bruce Willis tongue.gif

Maybe not a "moonlighting" scenario but something other than going back to NYC police department.

This may be the last season for Castle ending with a wedding and her retiring from the NYPD and him doing the 007 books that was offered him a few season back.
I just can't see it going on like a Law and Order or CSI, they can't replace characters, as Beckett and Castle's characters interpersonal relationship is the show.

I don't see that happening (last season) at all
the show is hugely popular on ABC , Stana & Nathan make boat loads of cash , both are at a high point in their careers , NO way they are going to pull a David Caruso / NYPD Blue type of mistake . rolleyes.gif

Caruso finally made it big in "Miami" but it took him several years after NYPD Blue, which ranks as one of my all-time favorite police dramas along with Hill Street Blues, Homicide: Life on the Street, and Law & Order.

My money is on Beckett getting back with the NYPD, even though here former desk is a mess.

I agree. ABC is struggling, and Castle is a solid performer for them. I just don't see them messing with the formula too much. That's fine with me. I just "discovered" Castle six months ago, so I'm not tired of the formula at all.

A 'manager' of a Federal agency walks up the the residence of an employee and says in front of someone else "your fired"?? Aren't they stretching things a bit. I can't imaging the worst company out there (CSX or Walmart among a hundred others) wouldn't even do that.

This series looses points on that big time. mad.gif

It's a TV show. How much time do you think should have been devoted to her termination? Should they have brought her in to the big office, pointed out all of her indiscretions, and then told her? What part of the ever-decreasing time for the scripted part of the show should have been removed to make time for a "proper" termination? In the immortal words of Gomer Pyle, "Picky, picky, picky!"

Stana's been doing a lot of interviews lately for her new movie, CBGB. She keeps getting asked when Beckett will get back in the NYPD. Her answer is that since her job and desk are currently filled, it could several episodes before it happens.

Agreed. We all know a "real" company would just send an email.

How about a phone call at the hospital? When I was young and less than a year into my first managerial position, I had five women working for me, all single except one. One of the single gals was often sick (she really was). Our company had a very strict attendance policy, including sick time. So, one Friday when my employee was in the hospital and due to be discharged later that day, my boss told me to call her and tell her not to come in Monday, that her employment had been terminated. When I protested, he asked if I wanted to be next. I made the call.

Less than a year later, I left the company and regret having been forced to make that call still today.

My son was in an managerial position at a medical billing operation. They had him ride roughshod over 30 employees. I told him that if they have you treat others like crap , then one day your crap sandwich will be served. He was forced to resign or dine shortly thereafter.

Much better episode of Castle. It took a lot faster for Beckett to get her job back at the NYPD than I thought. I think they need to get rid of the new sloppy detective as he adds nothing to the show.

So, we get a sci-fi time travel episode next time around!

I expect they will add plenty of references to others shows, like Doctor Who. They can't do a time travel episode and not mention the good Doctor biggrin.gif

Let the time travel fun begin!!!

Okay, well I feel a little cheated with the whole FBI storyline. It was far too short and there were no lasting ramifications on the characters. I also thought Beckett's chief was acting out of character by being so willing to involve Beckett and Castle in the case (beyond the hostage taker's request to speak with Castle). It's clear she has come to accept Castle's valuable assistance, but maybe it would have worked out better as a slow acceptance; but it felt like a leap from not being able to stand Castle to wanting him around all the sudden.

Really good episode even though there were really awkward moments.

That has to be in the top 5 episodes for me.

Good to see Castle back to the old formula. That was a great episode. Good to see Pi moving out of Castle's apt. That's another character that needs to go.

Who said that he's gone? The two of them have moved in together. There will be more Pi. I'm guessing that Castle will really screw things up with Alexis.

Did I miss an episode?

The last one I saw was where Beckett got fired from the FBI.

Don't remember seeing one where she got rehired on the NYPD.

You must have missed last week. Castle got pulled into a case, Beckett worked it informally, which resulted in her getting rehired. Any more would be a spoiler since you haven't seen it.
