Another solid and entertaining episode...maybe I'm just entertained by Nathan

At or near the start, when they were making sure Castle didn't hold the department responsible for any thing that happened to him, they played a few chords from a song, I think it was 'Yesterday's Gone', by William Orbit and Beth Orton, I loved that song, cannot find it on youtube or anywhere.

Just finished last night's ep, I'm hooked. Nathan Fillion makes the show though, it wouldn't work with most any other actor in that role.

It wouldn't work at all, for me at least, with someone else in the show. He is great, and I hope this is the show that finally gives him the long-run he deserves.

So ratings actually went up in week 2. Great news.

I'm enjoying this show a lot more than I thought I would...

Medium (repeat) and CSI.

"CSI: Miami" (CBS) and "Medium" (NBC). "Medium" was a repeat, which may account for "Castle's" numbers. The real test will be next week when "Castle" airs opposite new episodes of both "Miami" and "Medium" at the same time.

Don't be sad. Mine was very short. You probably started first.

I liked the second ep. The lead female cop needs work, she teeters between being a hard nosed bitch and seeming like a moron whenever Castle figures out something first. The problem is they both specialize in the same area, so hopefully they better define their roles. Still, Fillions charm carries it.

I only watched the first ep so far, but wife and I both enjoyed it. At first I wasn't even going to give it a chance because we watch enough crime dramas as it is, but I like Nathan Fallion so gave it a chance.

Was very pleasantly surprised. As others have mentioned, Nathan makes the show, and so far all the other characters are throwaways, although I did think he and the female cop have a good chemistry. I can see the mom getting annoying, and I'm kindof not leaning either way on the daughter.

Anyways, I hope it continues to be good...will probably watch ep2 tonite, and maybe this will actually give Nathan Fallion a chance a long running series.

Whole household liked this show - a lot.

Almost shot coffee out of my nose when she grabbed his nose and he yelled, "APPLES! APPLES!". Until then, I had assumed he was just being a wise ass when he said he had a safe word.

Good chemistry and timing with the lead actors.

So far both episodes had enough twists and turns to make the show interesting.

I thought the first two episodes were excellent and I look forward to the third one tonight. Everybody gets a chance to funny and charming and some of the snarky one liners are rich.

Second ep had the better plot. I'm sorry, but I still think the mother and daughter add nothing and "must go". Of course, I suppose sooner or later a plot will involve either one or both of them in peril

Watched the first and second episodes, on the SATURDAY repeat of course . So far, I liked both episodes, which means I'm counting down the days until it gets canceled.

Liked it also so far mainly because of Fillion. Just a minor nitpick from second ep. How many people with kids leave condoms in their medicine cabinets?

the plot was pretty weak on this one (they were spoon feeding us) but I still loved the interaction between Castle and his daughter and Reese (err wrong show) and Castle...

Agree as well. I did get a kick out of the female (I refuse to learn character's names) grabbing Nathan's ear like a little kid. Cracked me up.

Overall plot was a bit weak, and they really jump to some conclusions based on obscure information. In a way, the show reminds me a bit of Monk, in that a small clue causes Monk/Castle to jump to a far-fetched hypothesis which of course proves to be correct.

I also agree that this week's episode was the weakest of the season. There was no edginess, the dialog between Castle and his teenage daughter, for example, made me think I might need an insulin shot.

DSM sucked, and Pushing Daisies (even though I wanted to love it) was starting to bore.

I think Pushing Daisies was or should've been a one season show. You can only take so much whimsy.
