"Castle" on ABC HD - Page 29

To me that would mean a mis-wiring/misconfiguration since the tally output to go to net should change to both the correct video and audio. It would be dumb to have a setup where the MC operator had to hit two switches. Stupid even. I've never heard of that being done.

Certainly does, doesn't it. See above comment about tally misconfiguration.

What is weird with this is that the misconfiguration should affect all of the ABC programming audio, not just this show.

I've had no problem with ABC's new shows at been watching then all weekend
maybe DirecTv just gets a better feed .. stellar stuff .. sorry about you guys having a problem

Local ABC station (WTVQ) has been having complete audio dropouts for about 20-30 seconds since the fall season started, it usually only happens once per show. They also went dead air for a bit before the start of the 7pm Extreme Makeover on 9/25.

I didn't say the switching was done manually.

But whatever system they were using to do the switching was obviously highly unreliable and required viewer complaints and manual intervention by the engineers to correct.

I really like how in last nights episode they were able to reference like a bazillion marvel superheroes because Disney owns marvel. I don't think I have ever seen that many references in one show before and it makes the show all that more "real" to me when they don't have to make up a bunch of fake heroes and generic comic books because of things like intellectual property and such.

Happened again tonight. Right on schedule @ ~17min mark (during first visit to comic shop.)

This is one of only three scripted network shows I watch. But I must ask what useful purpose the "wise know it all daughter" serves. She has become even more annoying this year. If my daughter informed me that she was going to a west coast university from New York to join a boyfriend she would have been grounded just for thinking about it. Mom is just about as bad.

I always said the "wise know it all daughter" caused SHARK to be cancelled which was a shame as James Woods is one of our greatest actors.

I like the daughter. I think you'll find yourself in the minority here.

Shark was a very good show, but I don't think the daughter was the reason it was cancelled.

Good point - I didn't even notice that (or even that they were all Marvel characters).

In most shows I like long story arcs, but I watch Castle for witty banter while solving crime. I was glad thye got back ot that this week.

Right when I was thinking they wouldn't mention any DC characters all ep, Castle said he'd want to be Batman.

The daughter and mom serve as plot devices to help Castle figure out a key point in the case when he's at his end and they bother him with some of their drama, usually in the form of some witty comment.

Love this show. Love that the tension is still there, it is so much more exhilarating to watch than actually have them hook up.

So, where do I collect?

Mm.. I dunno, meh episode. Guess I should watch it over.

That part of the plot seemed weird to me. She wasn't accepted?!? I thought that was a done deal last seaon. I've never heard of someone picking classes and making living arrangements for a school when they haven't even gotten an acceptance letter - I would have thought that the timing of acceptance/release of class scheudle would preclude that.

My take was that she was checking the schedule online and picking her classes accordingly, but not actually registering for them. Just looking at what classes she planned on taking, as she was already sure that she was getting in. As for the living arrangements, I agree with some here who said that she only said she was living with Ashley to mess with Castle.

The frozen murder victim brought up some interesting legal/ethical issues, but overall seemed kinda weird and disturbing to me.

I, of course, was hoping that Miss "ever wise, know it all" would be admitted. She would seem to fit right in on the West Coast.

I suspect they will keep her local to allow more plot options for the writers.

I've always figured they'd have her end up at Columbia - Ivy league, Manhattan.

good episode last nite....except for one thing. detective ryan playing the tough guy was a little hard to swallow.

Yeah it starts the plot arc that this that killer that got away last season ...

The only nit I had was the eldest son in criminal gang carrying the homicide gun. Had he not ever seen an episode of one of the three CSI shows. Definitely the writers being lazy.

Blah.

Apparently I missed the original episode that gave this backstory. Not sure how that happened, but during the 'previously on..." segment my wife and I both looked at each other with the same quizzical expression that we had no recollection of that.

I really didn't buy the whole thing about Ryan being so upset it was his gun and blaming himself: he specifically says something like (and I'm paraphrasing): "Don't tell me it's not my fault she's dead! It was my gun! It was my fault! She's dead because of me!"

Like they wouldn't have killed her with another gun if they didn't have his. Just seemed a completely inappropriate conclusion he drew for someone in that line of work.

I'm not in law enforcement, but if you're a cop, it seems having a criminal take your gun might be big deal.

I'm not talking about that. Obviously it is and I imagine it's a lot of paperwork on top of that.

I am referring to the conclusion he draws (apparently) that if his gun wouldn't have been taken, the girl wouldn't have been killed. Hence why he blames himself and says it's all his fault she's dead, etc.

It's kindof like someone stole my car and decided to plow through a crowd with it. Yeah, that sucks. But if wasn't my car, it'd have been someone else's. Not my fault, and I wouldn't blame myself for it.

But it's a minor detail....just something that I didn't "buy" while I was watching it. I suppose some people would blame themselves completely. I am not one of those, and I would think a homicide detective would not either (or at least would like to imagine they would be a little more logical).

He's human. It's an emotional response, not a logical one. I understand it.
