The writer's are bringing her into the family as a friend, but we all know that soon it will be blowing hot and cold with Castle (for as long is the show lasts).

Stana Katic is, indeed, an extraordinarily beautiful young woman, not to mention an excellent actress. I, too, am enjoying watching her character's development with Castle. That should continue to be a lot of fun. I also think a lot of Susan Sullivan, as Castle's mother. Sullivan, like her character, is an old time Broadway baby. Every time she opens her mouth I think, "The Theahtah!"

The writing on the show is also very funny. How about, "He's rich and handsome, we call him 'The White Whale.'"

"Not Moby Di-"

"no"

The only problem I have with this show is that at times it is written so smartly that when it does something that follows a mundane pattern it stands out more.

Like this week's ep, but the closeup of the wanted flyer said the woman was 5'7" and 14 lbs LOL

Also, was the paralyzed captain's name "Pike"??

eta - still watching the ep, it was Pike, intentional Trek reference?

Had to be, the guy was even made up to look like Pike, plus he was in a wheel chair to boot.

Good episode this week though I think the poker stuff was kind of weak. I don't see either one of them not taking the hand.

Damn, this show many get me watching more ABC procedural shows.... :P

Nah, it's all about the Fillion! The "I'm like a jedi like that" line was classic. I barely even follow the case, I'm just enjoying Fillion. Whoever writes this show is VERY tuned into his delivery style.

I agree that Fillion makes the show fun to watch all by himself. The show is made even better, though, by Fillion's supporting cast. Stana Katic has been great and she's not bad to look at, either. I also enjoy Susan Sullivan as Castle's elegant but air-headed mother and Molly C. Quinn as his teenaged daughter, who seems to be the only adult in Castle's family.

So what's everyone's guess on what Castle found out? That totally felt like a setup for the season finale and not the actual season finale...what a bummer...I bet we never get to find out what it was Castle found...

I love this show. Even though it only ran for - what 13 weeks?- the cast seems so well matched it looks like they have been working together for years. They riff off each other like few shows do even after they have been around for a while.

It'd be a crime if this show does not come back.

I'm guessing that the ME back then was dirty and bought off to cover up the handful of similar murders. But I have no idea why. Was Beckett's dad a cop?

im just kinda hoping they filmed 2 endings and got the go ahead to do the cliffhanger instead of wrapping it up.

This show must return! Please!!

Castle was one of my favorite shows by the end of its season. It just kept getting better and better. It's nice to see Fillion finally get another gig that is worthy of his talent. This is the first one since Firefly, and that was a long time ago. Although it's always a smart bet to underestimate the intelligence of network suits, I have a hunch that the show will be renewed. I hope that's not just wishful thinking.
on another forum they said fillon posted on whedonesque or something that he finds out friday if they are renewed or not

I hope it's back... good cast, some smart jokes, and I think it could do pretty well.

So that was the season finale?

My wife and have enjoyed it, and I'm hopeful that Fillion has found something that will last...

I'm a Whedon-head, so don't mind me but I thought the decision to cancel Firefly after just one season was both outrageous and dumb, dumb, dumb!

Lots of sources are confirming a renewal. I'd consider it a done deal.

Are you intentionally forgetting he was the lead in Drive?

I think I know a humorous riposte when I see one, pard. Unless I sadly miss my guess, you agree with me that Drive was certainly NOT worthy of Fillion's talent.

What are you talking about, it was explained just before in the scene with Castle's doctor friend.

If you mean finding out that her mom was just one of many, that certainly was significant.

Given the look on Castle's face, though, I guess that made me think there might be more to it. I wasn't sure why telling her that would be so significant that he wanted her to sit down to hear it. Maybe I'm missing something.
Well, the only other thing I can think of is WHO the other victims were, that would be enough for them to at least have good avenues to find new evidence in the case, without skipping over the fact of Castle doing a whole bunch of investigation and depriving the audience of it.

They left it on a cliffhanger...obviously, they found out more...

Excellent!

That's great news, indeed! It's nice to see Nathan Fillion finally getting a series that has been renewed.

Not his first though. "Two Guys, A Girl & A Pizza Place" lasted three seasons (60 episodes). And that was a damn funny show.

He was on Two Guys? Huh...
