Loved the passing of the 'browncoat'... I'm sure I missed some other Firefly references, but that one was very nice.

Right On. Great episode. I still "hate" the mother and daughter. They hinder, rather than help this otherwise great show.

I thought for sure, somewhere in the episode we'd come across a man named Jayne. I figured it would be some suspect. Kinda disappointed that only the Browncoat reference to Firefly.

They did have an episode in a previous season where they were hunting down a Nuke. In that episode his Mother and daughter were doing to some "Serenity Spa" upstate.

Slaughter's comment about lice reminded me of Jayne's line, "That's why I never kiss 'em on the mouth."

There was another Firefly reference -- Castle playing with the toy dinosaurs.

hehe, thats right, the Dinosaurs. Good stuff Firefly was.

I think another Firefly reference was at the end when Slaughter said something like "if that happens we're going to have words". They spoke lines like that in Firefly multiple times.

Great stuff, fav is still the Halloween party where Nathan puts on his old brown coat. lol

That had the reference of Jon Huertas in his Gen Kill outfit also no?

I fell asleep watching it, but the whole flash zombie thing was hilarious. The whole will they or won't they between Castle and Beckett is getting annoying...

Something tells me that it will be resolved next week.

Yeah, I finished it. I'm still torn either way.

I enjoyed it immensely. Regardless of the outcome Castle now knows that Beckett knows what he said when she was shot, and that she knows he knows. All the knows that's fit to print.

I'm sure this has been visited before, but... ok if they do hook up will they be able to function at their job? I think I'm still on the side of them not hooking up.

Yep. IMO one of the more enjoyable episodes this season, with Castle and Beckett acting more like Castle and Beckett should act.

Why does it feel like this show is wrapping up for good like House?

Well, since that was the season finale, any wrap up won't be this season!

If Castle doesn't get renewed (ya, right!), it could serve as an ending. But, it is definitely a setup for the next season.

CasBeck finally a couple, Becket with no job and the assassin out to get her. A new turn for the series.

With the upfronts next week, we'll learn if the show is renewed, unless I've missed an announcement somewhere.

I am fairly certain that I read somewhere that this show has already been renewed. I am wondering where they are going from here she is no longer a cop so what is she going to do? Is she going to open here own detective agency?

i would be shocked if she doesn't get her detective job back.

but as for castle and beckett hooking up; where do they go from here? i can't see them living happily ever after - too boring.

I agree. I think her boss was little taken aback when Beckett resigned, so eventually I think they'll both come around. This is a cop show afterall.

According to TV By the Numbers, it doesn't look like ABC has officially renewed any shows yet. However, they list Castle as "more likely to be renewed than cancelled".

Of course, she'll get her detective job back eventually. But once she does, assuming they remain a couple, I think they will try and keep the relationship under wraps for as long as possible, particularly for the sake of the hard-ass captain. She wouldn't look too kindly upon the relationship but then again, since Castle isn't a cop and as long as he is still helping to close cases, she might decide to let it slide. Or Castle can pull another, "friends with the mayor" trump card.

I think once they resolve the big "who killed Beckett's mother and why" mystery, they'll begin a story arch relating to the hinted-at mystery of the identity of Castle's father.

Maybe Castle's father killed Beckett's mother...

Which would be awesomely predictable.
