Ghostbusters

Atari picked this game up. Some amazing graphics, I'm really impressed. Much of the original cast is lending their voice talents to this game as well. As a youngster I used to watch the Real Ghostbusters cartoon. This proves that I'm a big fan of the series. Venkman was my favorite character. He seemed to do pretty good with the ladies. So let's talk about this one

This line made me LOL, I used to watch it too, it was good stuff!

hell yeah -- wasn't there also a spinoff of the cartoon that was just slimer?

*To provide the use of ones voice for a fee.

That signature is classic. Mainly the reason why I posted, though I too ain't afraid of no ghost.

I really want this to be good.

me too... so far so good.

This trailer doesn't show much specific gameplay or anything, but man it looks pretty. The character models of the ghostbusters look striking. The spot-on graphics plus the real voices should make for a great throwback no matter what.

P.S. This is shaping up to be Dan Akroyd's best role in 10 years.

This game could be absolutely horrible and I'd still buy it, that's how much I love the whole series. Don't let Atari know I said that though.

Yeah same here. I think it will be fun with a good storyline, I'm a little worried about controls and animation...the character movements look pretty choppy in the trailers.

i can't watch the video here, but if it's the same dude that reviews the old NES games, he's pretty damn funny. top gun review is one of my favorites...that and TMNT.

if by "disgusting" you mean "awesome" and by "not funny" you mean "f*cking hilarious" then you're spot on!

Some of what that guy says about the old nes game is funny but he is still the type that thinks dropping F-bombs and saying $hit over and over is somehow entertaining . Cursing as a form of entertainment was cool back in grade school or maybe even middle school but I don't think that is this guys target audience . He's actually talking down to his audience assuming that they are all Beavis and Butthead sitting around giggling because he said $hit or dropped an F-bomb . I can appreciate his view on some of the older games however and he makes valid points while acting like an idiot so there is some value there .

The new game however looks like it could be great fun , loved the movies and hope for the best with the game . Maybe if it does well it will inspire the original guys to do another film with todays tech ( even if it sucked everyone would still go see it , money in the bank ) .

^ it's easy you just make them the ghosts
post #18 of 103
but then wouldnt they just trap themselves out of principal and the code of the ghostbuster? or as ghosts are they no longer capable of rational thought? or independant thought? or are they possessed? cause then they might not even technically be ghosts...

Maybe they can make it something of a combo Ghostbusters/Cocoon. They can maybe even get Wilford Brimley to join the cast.

I like that he has fun with it, Murray on the other hand for a very long time didn't want anything to do with the franchise. I guess he thought it was beneath him as a "serious actor." Anyway it's great that he got over himself and helped out with the game.

Speaking of Ramis did anyone catch the Family Guy short with Kermit the Frog/Ramis/Ray Romano/Al Michaels talking over each other? Pretty funny.

Its been hinted at but, no ones asked the most important question of all.

Is Ray Parker Jr's. hit song "I Want A New Drug"..ERRR...um.... I mean, "Ghostbusters" going to be in the game????

I think it goes without saying that the theme is required. I can't say I remember the Sega game, but I did play the ish out of the Commodore 64 game when I was like 5. Anyone remember that one, it was impossible to beat.

Ending months of speculation, Infogrames announced on November 7, 2008 that Atari would be releasing the game in June 2009[16] to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the first film's theatrical release. At the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, Sony confirmed that the game will be released on June 16th in the US and June 19th in Europe, alongside home video re-releases of the Ghostbusters films.[3]

Not impossible. You just had to nip through stay puff's legs.
I played the c64 version so much I used to hear the music in my head when I went to bed.

When you completed the game you got an account code that gave you your score/money. It didn't matter though as you had to make 10k back to keep your franchise every time you played. I guess it was more of a save system to keep your high score.
