Hello!
I'm new here, and i'm from poland, so, forgive me my english, because i never learn this language, only from watching movies with subtitles
From few months i have p3600, till today, i dont have any problem, every BD plays fine (only one problem was, from time to time - freezes i short pause when i play dvd's. Till today i have 2.04 firmware. Today i buy Terminator Salvation blu-ray, entering home, put disc into p3600, a progress bar goes from start to end and... black screen. No menu, no nothing, i try few more times, and the same. So i download 2.05. Doing update (i have don few updates in my live), 10 minutes, passes, 20 minute passes and still tv says firmware is updating, dont turn the power... after 50 minutes, i pull the plug i power up my p3600... ufff everything ok, but still 2.04, i try one more time - same story. I download 2.05 one more time, formating pendrive, and this time is ok, 2.05. But, Terminator Salvation still not working. I wonder, is the firmware? Or only my player? I must wait till 2.06 or sale my copy of Terminator? Enyone has this problem? Please report. Once again - welcome everybody, sorry for this fatal english language

It is hard to tell if it is firmware or the player. The movie companies keep changing things in effort to prevent copying. Maybe someone else that has tried to watch that movie on the 3600 will speak up and tell us if they had a problem.

Your English is just fine. I know someone who picked up his English listening to Beatles albums.

Try downgrading to Firmware Version 1.04 and see if that does the trick. For some strange reason, the 2.XX firmwares are causing more compatibility issues rather than fixing it. If you need a copy of it, here you go.....

It is the firmware and the Samsung players. I own a Panasonic DM-30 that I first used 2 years ago on my 58" panasonic plasma. I swapped the tv to a Samsung 55" LED and at the same time swapped the bluray player for the new Samsung BDP-3600 and have been going nuts trying to figure out the quirks these machines have. The other day I plugged the Panasonic BLuray player in and swapped the HDMI from the Samsung and it has played every disc I throw at it and I haven't updated the firmware in 1 year. The only thing is that I like the Netlfix streaming feature. I hope Samsung can fix these problems. I have 3 Samsung and all have their issues. Even both of my 1590's from Costco have issues.

When I try to pull up "My Favorites" after logging into the Youtube feature I get an error that says, "Please Try Again Later". Has anyone had this problem? I called Samsung customer service and they told me it is a youtube problem, but Youtube doesnt have a customer service so I am hoping someone here can help me.

I'm sorry your having problems with your 3600. I've had mine quite some time now and had only one problem playing a disk. That was last night with Angels and Demons.

funny, my player plays Angels and Demons ok (but sometimes, the subtitles stops appearing on screen). T4 still not ok, i dont want to downgrade my firmware. I still waiting for someone confirm troubles with Terminator Salvation, because i start to thing, its my player or disc problem.
Someone at the CNET thread said T:Salvation works fine in Firmware 1.03 but doesn't work with 2.04. So, downgrading SHOULD do the trick. I initially said Firmware V. 1.04 because 1.03 doesn't have BB and YouTube.

I live in europe is this firmware for region 2? why is this so big? normaly it has 35mb
post #1480 of 3244
I am using firmware 2.05 and I can play Terminator Salvation. Now, it took a lonnnnnng time to load (maybe four minutes--longer than any other BD I have played) and there was no progress bar telling me that something was loading, but it eventually loaded and played fine.

No, sorry. US only.

See zuulboy's post above. Maybe you just need to wait a little longer for it to load. It happened a couple of times where I loaded a couple of Paramount and Dreamworks Blu-rays and it took unusually long to load. I worried there for a minute thinking the disc may not play. Turns out I just needed to be patient

Its start every time so long? did you start this few times? my Terminator trying to start about 10 minutes now, nothing happens Witch region are you?

Great, still not working, maybe a trick? or something? i got an idea, that the disc is broken. I have my old p1400, i plug him, insert the disc, after werry long time with processing bar - sony logo, everything working. p1400 goes with no problem, p3600 - best player, not working.

I am Region A and am playing a disc in California.

OK, I just tried again to play Terminator Salvation (only the second time I've popped it in the player). Oddly, this time there was no long delay. The warning screen loads, followed by a spinning disc to tell you that it's loading and then it just launches right into the movie, like a lot of Warner Bros. discs do. Maybe you have a defective disc?

Disc is ok, read my previous post. In region B, disc is from Sony, and it freez before sony logo, after processing bar is gone, so, i need to wait for someone from my region, thanks

I had no problem playing the region 1 Terminator you had problems with, loaded quickly played great. Both it and Angels and Demons were Netflix rentals. My guess is that the copy of Angels & Demons I got had problems and that the player doesn't. i hope so anyway.

I have an Onkyo 705, and didn't use the codes, I just learned the remote. have you tried learning the remote for the pause button?

Question. Can you stream VOB files from a PC or from a USB ? I go to the video_Ts directory, but it sees no files.

Ok, converted the vobs to mkv using makemkv , its plays the sound only for 10 seconds and then stops with unsupported file format.

Running Australia 2.05

mkv , audio a52 , video mpgv 720x576 25 fps

This is my first Blu-ray player and to be honest, I haven't even had a chance to watch a full Blu-ray on it yet. I've just popped in a few discs to make sure they load and take a peak at the quality.

My question is, has anyone here had any issues with regular DVD's skipping or freezing? My kids have a few Thomas and Disney movies that experience some hiccups on this player. Is this something that a lot of Blu-ray players run into, i.e. are they more "sensitive" to scratches/smudges/dust on the DVD? Or is this something that might benefit from a firmware downgrade?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Chris

I believe the 3600 only supports AVC and VC1 in an MKV.

I have this problem every now & again. While watching a
movie, the screen will fill with "snow" or static for a second
or two or I get a black screen and then the movie resumes.

On at least one occasion I tried playing a brand new children's
dvd and nothing - no menu, options - just a black screen.

I've yet to play a blu-ray disc - only Netflix discs (which can
be treated rough I imagine) but the "snow" problem even happened
with a new release.

I'm new to the forums and have yet to read through all the
posts but I hope I can find a solution.

I've had no problems (except for a couple Lionsgate Titles, but they have given hell to a lot of different brands).

no issues here either..it is working well for me
post #1498 of 3244
I, for one, would heartily recommend this player and Do to my friends. I don't have an extensive library of blu rays as of yet...my wife notices. but we Have been watching several netflix streaming movies and surfed youtube (wish interface was easier). Have had no performance problems - My wife's brother had this player and the same 50 inch Samsung Plasma that I ended up getting. They pre-ordered the new Star Trek blu ray for my birthday in July and I didn't even Have a blu ray player or hi def tv! So...I researched - had a netflix account for years and Definitely wanted to get into the streaming. Have made all the upgrades wirelessly without incident. Kinda hard to get the pc streaming feature to work consistantly but it did once. I guess I have hit on my two beefs...but the good bits far outweigh the bad.
So I updated the firmware last night for the first time since I bought the player and when i went back to connect to my wireless network everything connected properly. I clicked on the network connection test everything passed except the internet service test. Has anyone else had this problem getting hooked up to a network. This only has been an issue since upgrading the firmware

Did you redo all of your settings?
