I know this is not a Blu-ray with any known issues, but FWIW I played through Juno without any problems last night. I've got some Disney and WB Blu-rays to try next and I'll post my results here.

Just think it might be helpful to have as a reference to what's working or not working for some people's 3600's.

Did not try it manually. I will tonight, thanks.

Page 57 of the manual. Once a shared folder is setup on your PC, select menu, then the red "A" button on the remote. You will see a window where you can select the network search type.

dumb question, but it is asking for a user name and password (after it sees my computer)??? I dont recall having a username and password for my computer

EDIT - I found out that the username is the same as the computer name and there is no password..it works great..I can access anything from my shared folder.

Has anyone had any issues with playing subtitles from an mkv file? I have a couple of MKVs that have subtitles. I checked with MediaInfo and I even extracted the contents of the mkv just so I could see the subtitle file for myself. But when I play this mkv on my 3600 and I hit the subtitles button it registers that there are no subtitles.

Just wondering if anyone else had this issue or has had this work for them?

Thanks,

.srt files with the same name as the mkv in the same folder seems to work for me. I haven't extensively tested subtitles, but that is the only thing I have gotten to work. I've had no luck with any muxed subtitles.

So far good with me also. I had to reset my network manual, then go to wi-fi, but all is good now. My unit was older and not not upgraded to B/B or youtube so it is new fun now. I had nexflix before so now i have a new option.:

Hi,

Need some help. I updated the firmware in my sisters region free BD-P3600 player, and now it won't play Region 1 movies any more. Does anyone have an old EUROPEAN (_exf ending in firmware file) stored on their computer or know a place I can find it. I manage to find an old European 2.02 version, but the multi region hack does not work.

Or if there is a way to make it multi region again.

I basically destroyed her player, and I will be very grateful for any help.

Thanks.

Question pertianing to the LAN capabilites. Currently I have the 3600 set up w/ WIFI. My issue is: can I connect my BD player to my Samsung 7100 via Lan line and recieve the internet for the TV? In otherwords can the BD player output the signal?

Also played Year One blu ray disc and the player froze...then my Netflix streaming was freezing after w/ disc out. Turned off the player and back on...Netflix is working fine now.

Hello guys, I'm new here and bought this blu-ray player yesterday... But I'm a bit frustrated with the Internet connection... Let met explain, also sorry for my bad english it's not my main language...

Everything's fine except when I try to test Internet connection.

My wi-fi setup has no prob, my ps3 (192.168.0.4) and laptop (192.168.0.3) work perfectly (wireless) with my d-link dir-655 router (192.168.0.1), lastest firmware. I use static IPs, no DNS, and WPA2 security (which is supported by the blu-ray player btw)...

So I setup my blu-ray player's IP with 192.168.0.5 - mask: 255.255.255.0 - gateway: 192.168.0.1 - dns: 209.226.175.223. Then I find my network name and connect to it via WPA2 plus CORRECT password... It says SUCCESS (or CONNECTED)... Bingo? No...

When I try to test network connection it fails... MAC address GOOD, IP adress GOOD, PING GOOD but Internet service... FAIL....

I dont know what to do... I tried with cable plugged (rj45) with exact same result !! I have upgraded to latest bluray player firmware 2.05 (usb)... I'm happy now 'cause I can read MP4 now but still same problem with internet connection (

can someone help, or have experienced same situation... thank you very much...!!

I purchased a 3600 at Best Buy on Cyper Monday and for the most part we love it and it is working well with one exception that I can't seem to get figured out. I have a DLink NAS (dns321) that I keep all of my media on and would like to be able to stream from with the player. The NAS shows up when doing an auto search from the player, and I have also seen it by using manual mode and inputting the info. No matter how I try it however, the 3600 either comes back with "no shares found" or "data does not match". I can't get at anything in the NAS at all.

Has anyone out there been successful in streaming from a NAS or more specificaly, a DLink dns321? Everything in the DLink setup pages seem correct. I have upnp enabled as well as the option to have the storage device reveal itself to Vista/W7 networking. The impression I am getting is that the 3600 does not support DLan and will only see shared folders on a PC. Any suggestions welcome. I only have a couple of weeks to decide whether or not to bring it back and exchange for an LG bd390 which I would really hate to do because the 390 does not support Pandora, and my wife has really come to love that service. I'm also wondering if Samsung has any plans of supporting DLan in an upcoming firmware release. I do have the latest firmware installed (v.205). i'm hoping someone has the magic bullet out there to get this working with my NAS.

I am wondering about the same question because I'm considering buying one of these. Can you connect a 3600 wirelessly and then use the LAN port on the back as an output to connect via an ethernet cable to a satellite receiver or game console?

Just got this player as an upgrade to my BD-P1500. I don't Blockbuster or Netflix service, so I have tried them yet. I was able to get Pandora working, and it's great. I was really looking forward to the Youtube functionality, but I get a "Network invalid setup." I couldn't find anything searching the thread that would help me. Anyone else have this issue?

I picked one up today to pair with a UN55B8000 that should be delivered Wednesday. I can't wait to mess around with this unit (this is my first stand alone unit).

There is no way you can use the LAN as some sort of output or relay. You will not be able to arbitrarily pull info from the player this way. It is simply a way for the player access a network and get to the internet.

Hi, this is my first posting here and sadly enough it's a support request.

I live in europe. I bought Terminator Salvation Extended Edition today. The disc starts loading, it shows a progress bar, then when loading completes the screen goes blank(black) and nothing happens. So I guess it gets stuck at loading the menu.

Then tried installing firmware 2.05. Firmware installed just fine, but the same problem loading Terminator.

I never had any trouble with newly released Blu-Ray Discs.

Anyone any advice or tips?

thanks in advance.

Once the disc start to play normal, i havent do anything, i press stop, then play again - the same, progress bar and black screen later. Funny thing, on my old p1400 Terminator goes without any problem. In samsung call center they say, that new firmware will be in this or next month, but they dont say, if the problem will be solvet, will see...
The Harry Potter and half blood prince also have a little problem - from time to time it freez after spinning loading disc on screen, just a second before I see the menu. Then I must power off player and power on again (sometimes a few times) for everything goes right.

Problem is with the firmware. As I mentioned so many times before...the 2.XX firmwares have lock-up problems. When I rolled back to Firmware 1.04, problem is now resolved. Samsung needs to fix this on the next firmware release.
Does anyone have the european firmware 1.04?

Same issue here. I can see the DLink NAS box but unable to connect to it. So far I'm streaming via a DLink medialounge device but it would be great if the BD player could do it in the future with a firmware upgrade

Hello,

got this player one month ago, the major findings until now were

- connection to shared folders not possible with automatic detection of the network (user and password always required and no combination of them works)
- connection to shared folder possible with manual detection of the network (ie you have to type IP address and name of the shared folder every time) but is not possible to save the data, even if the blue botton is for "save".
- no way to read some DVDs masterized with the laptop DVD unit

But the most critical finding appeared this week when I connected my new Denon AVR-1910 7.1 amplifier:

- HDMI connection with Denon AVR-1910 7.1 amplifier: image not stable, flickering (both blu ray discs and menu) and many little withe dots appearing or quickly passing on the screen. Sometimes the HDMI link between the player and the ampli is lost, and you have to wait until it's restored. No way to understand were the problem is (suspecting something related to HDMI I/F) but still investigating.

All ok connecting the 3600 directly to my Optoma HD 200X

Change out your HDMI cables. 3600 and Denons work perfectly well together.

I have run 7 or 8 Blu-ray movies thru mine now and all have played back flawlessly.

Wireless setup took all of about 3 minutes to get going. Netflix, YouTube, and Pandora work great. No isues. Have not tried the wireless PC streaming stuff. I have a PS3 and a Apple TV on my main TV so its not a big deal.

Its updated to the latest firware.

No issues yet.

I must be doing something wrong.

I have a Synology DiskStation DS-209j NAS and I can connect to the "video" share and stream all my video files. The way I finally got it to work was to use the "guest" user and give that user read permission to the folder.

I just pinged the NAS from my windows PC to obtain the correct IP address, entered the correct login infomation into the 3600 through the manual mode, and it works. The 3600 even remembers the login information from one session to the next. I still have to go through all the connection dialogs on the 3600 but the info is pre-populated in the fields now.

My only beef is that if you stop playing a video file the 3600 doesn't try to resume playback. That would be my #1 feature request.
