first I'd like to say a big thanks to everyone on this forum for the knowledge and help they provide. I'm pretty new to blu-ray and HD so I don't have much to contribute, and when I do, it's usually followed up by some questions, and this time is no different.
I've had the 3600 for a few months now and haven't had any problems, Netflix streams fine, wired connection, wireless from my computer streams good. I've only played a few blu-ray discs through it and until tonight, they all worked great.
Tonight I put in Inglorious Basterds and it would play though the big Universal splash screen than nothing, "no signal" showing on the tv.
Anyways, I went to the Samsung site and they have firmware 2.12 available for dl, even though if I check through the player it says everything is up to date, I have 2.09 I believe. I put the new firmware on a usb but the player doesn't do anything when I plug it in. How do I get it to recognize the usb stick and update the firmware?
After messing around with the settings for awhile I got the disc to work though. I turned off the BD-live and when I put the disc in it went straight to the menu and played perfect all the way through. So, maybe that is hanging people up? It did say on the menu screen something about the box not being hooked to the internet, even though it is. But, maybe there is a glitch with the BD-live that keeps discs from playing. Hopefully that's of some help, and if anyone can tell me how to upgrade the firmware from the usb stick, I'd really appreciate it. It did recognize the stick when there was mp3's on it, but wouldn't play them or any movies I've tried on there.
