Just a quick suggestion. My 1500 did this after a recent firmware upgrade - it drove me up the wall, because I tried everything to get it working. Finally, I decided to try Component Video Out instead of HDMI, and my player started working again. It was bizarre, but when I posted this on the board for the 1500, others have told me their player started working again when they plugged-in the component cables.
It was very weird that most of the players work fine, but a few seem to require this component connection to continue past the 'load' message...
