I see there are some problems with this player, do you all think firmware will fix the problems and this will eventually be a very reliable player? As a player it seems to work fairly well. I have heard of some issues on this thread from those with Star Trek boxed sets, but from my own experience, it works decently without any problems. The biggest problem is that when streaming, there is a clear bug in the firmware(not a hardware problem since Netflix has no problem streaming movies, and Pandora also has no problem) where when streaming from a PC, it has problems after an hour and 15 mins or so.
Other annoyances: When you do the streaming, it will only auto-detect the first computer it finds. You can tell it the IP address of other computers though. This is another thing that a firmware update will hopefully fix.
There are some that have just gotten bad units. As a result, you may want to buy it retail so you can just return it where you bought it instead of sending away to Samsung. This is the normal thing you see with ANY piece of electronics, where things may go wrong due to shipping or some other issue. When you have a good unit, you have a good unit, and if you have a bad unit, it seems that it is not a "bad by design" type of thing.
