I'm about to make a LCD purchase and wanted to check for opinions of this respective group before I drop cash. The TV will be placed in a dedicated media room with blacked out windows. Usage will be 50% on gaming / 50% movie/DirecTV watching.
Here is my assembled list of candidates:
Samsung LNA750 - $2000
Samsung LNA650 - $1800 - To my eyes it looks like the exact same TV as the A750 save for the added DLNA features in the A750. Is that accurate?
Sony KDL-52W4100 - $1700 - The image quality appears to be on par with the Samsung models (though perhaps the blacks aren't quite as good to my eyes?). Great price/value.
Vizio VF550XVT
- $1800 - A 55" for $1800 is quite the value. It's an ugly, ugly TV but that's of small concern. I have only seen this one running in a Costco and it looks OK but lacks the "holy, crap...wow!" factor of the Samsung & Sony models.
I know you guys get this kind of post all the time. I really do appreciate your expert opinions.
