We're finishing our family room HT. All my equipment is going to be in a closet in the back of the room and controlled by RF. Currently the closet is approx. 3'W x 2'D and has standard contractor grade white wire shelving in it. This might be similar to a linen closet in some homes with a regular door.
While I could put my equipment on the existing shelves, I'm concerned about the shelves not holding the weight, esp. my AVR (30lbs). We'd like to maybe use the top part of the closet for the HT equipment (out of kids reach), but the bottom for storage, kids games, etc.
Ideas on how to approach this? Are the wire shelves stronger than I think?
Also, any ideas on ventilating the closet?
Thanks in advance!
Jeff
