Cool and Fun 2+ player games

I'm not that big of a fan of Rock Band / Guitar Hero. Shocking, I know...

I just got a PS3 / Big azz TV this week and am looking for a fun group game. (no pun intended)

I am picking up COD4 this weekend for a multi-p FPS but need something light for parties and such.

There is that game where you control a little amebia type thing via CTRL tilting. The name escapes me...

Any suggestions?

No Wii

Buzz Trivia (4 player), Burnout Paradise with Party Pack (8 player, or just pass the controller doing one-player challenges), LittleBigPlanet (4 player), Pixeljunk Monsters (2 player), Pixeljunk Eden (3 player), Wipeout HD (2 player, high learning curve, but gorgeous and will really show off your new TV), Lumines (2 player), Super Stardust HD (2 player, also has some extra multiplayer modes via DLC), High Velocity Bowling (2 player).... those are all the ones off the top of my head.

I saw DLC for a Trivial Pursuit game, but I didn't even know it existed; I'm gonna look into that.

Really depends on what type of games they like playing. My friends had a blast with Warhawk. A little lighter than COD4. +1 for LBP that ought to be a blast 4 player. Play the Contra levels.

The game you are talking about (the amoeba game) is called Flow. If you want something like that, skip Flow and get Flower. Flower is 1 player only, though.

Trivial Pursuit is fun. I'm going to post about it in the Trivial Pursuit thread though, not here.

High Velocity Bowling is fun, especially in groups.

Buzz is also fun in groups, and the new Buzz Jr. Jungle DLC is a blast.

You might like SingStar too, as it's head-to-head karaoke. We play it during parties, but I prefer to have 2 mics for Rock Band, as the way it works with singing is superior to SingStar IMO. But the songs in SingStar lend themselves to parties a little better.

Is that online or off? Both?
