I had to do a clean install of Win7 x64 and now I'm encountering an odd problem with getting the SLIM to bitstream. For some reason now I can't get bitstreaming lossless with MPC-HC at all. I can only get DD/DTS and that's only if I have the SLIM's SPDIF port on, and this is with the SLIM's speakers as the primary output. If I disable SPDIF and leave the Speakers on I get no sound at all.

Anyone else encounter a problem like this and have a fix for it?

Try HdmiYO. Otherwise there's the EDID override alternative. Worst scenario is requiring a Gefen Detective Plus device.

Hello agen Tulli i search for a guide to EDID override butt it seems all are fore ATI cards is thee a vibe l guide fore Nvidia cards ?

No difference with Nvidia cards. I only change 1 or 2 audio SADs to get around biststreaming issues with ATI drivers, but for the rest, they will work fine with Nvidia.

For those still using it the Slim now has new drivers:

Version 7.12.8.1792

1. Fix: When Play CS-S and Halp-Life under 64bit OS, There is no sound in Center channel and Side channel
2. Fix: When open GX function, Audio setting in new version Skype will cause crash issue.
3. Add GX & ASIO module version info in info page.
4. Add: Right Click Traicon, ASIO Control panel is selectable.
5. Update ASIO module.

Ok, this really means that the EDID override technique won't help you at all (as HdmiYO didn't before). It really looks that the Emotiva UMC requires video out to produce sound. But I won't suggest purchasing a Gefen Detective Plus for this (too expensive!). How about just switching to S/PDIF out when you turn your TV off? This implies having a coaxial connection off the Slim to the UMC of course.

Do you mean to have it do pass-through via HDMI?

What I want to do is set the HDMI output to 5.1 speakers and get stereo when I listen to a CD and get 5.1 sound when I play sources with 5.1 PCM like Casino Royale BD.

Right now I have my soundcard set to 5.1 speakers and when I play a CD I get sound from all speakers and I have to go the setup menu and set the HDMI output to 2 speakers if I want to listen to stereo, that's what I want to avoid.

Hi,

Newbie question:

I am trying to find sound card that supports high definition audio formats such as Dobly TrueHD and DTS HD MASTER. I'd like to play blue-ray disk containing such HD audio format on my Media Center PC which is hooked up to my 7.1 HT system. I use GeForce GT 430 graphics card that supports both of these audio formats. All I get is DTS 5.1 audio when playing blu-ray ith HD audio formats. It seems that I will also need sound card that supports these audio formats.

Can someone please suggest the make/model of sound card that supports these HD audio formats? The ASUS sound cards (HDAV series) that supported these formats is discontinued.

I'd appreciate if someone could shed some light on what sound card to purchase to get the support for these audio format.

Thanks!

No, the GT 430 does it all by itself.

You should post herehttp://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...5#post20256865 as this seems to be general discussion area for the 4 series, or start your own thread.

Hi,

Did your Slim come with a dvi to hdmi cable? If it did, connect the dvi-hdmi cable between the video card and the hdmi in on the Slim. Connect the hdmi out from the slim to the hdmi in on your receiver. Connect an hdmi cable between your tv and your video card. Select your tv as your main display, extend thd desktop in Win7. Hope this works.

old posting but +1 for this, I too need this.

Is there any way to get HD bitstreaming from this card using MPC-HC, etc for mkv files having dts-hd audio. I know it works fine until now with TMT5 on my system for HD Bitsreaming.

you mean:

Open a cmd window and type these commands:
CD C:\\Program Files\\ArcSoft\\TotalMedia Theatre 5\\Codec
(or, if you are on Windows x64:
CD C:\\Program Files (x86)\\ArcSoft\\TotalMedia Theatre 5\\Codec )
regsvr32 ASAudioRenderer.dll
Then add the Arcsoft Audio Renderer to the External Filters list of MPC-HC. Also add the ffdshow audio decoder and set both to prefer.

Finally set ffdshow output tab by ticking all pass/through audio formats and select "Only Xonar formats" from the drop-down menu list under Compatibility Options.

Of course before doing this make sure that the Xonar is properly set (check bitstreaming with TMT5).

Please can you re-check as I am not so much expert here, there might be some typo error as i need detailed steps 1, 2, 3, etc. etc. how to get HD Bitstreaming.

Please help, i shall be very much thankful
post #3112 of 3195
No typo. Basically it's 3 steps:

1. Register the Arcsoft Audio Renderer in the way outlined above.

2. Configure the ffdshow audio decoder.

3. Add both as external filters to MPC-HC and set them to prefer.
Thank you so much and i shall try and report back to you.
I am unable to register arcsoft codec. I am typing after cmd command:

CD C:\\Program Files (x86)\\ArcSoft\\TotalMedia Theatre 5\\Codec regsvr32 ASAudioRenderer.dll

Correct? It says that path is not recognized or something like that. I have TMT5.114

Does it work on 114 or I have to install TMT5.87?

Please advise. Thanks
No, those are 2 commands in a cmd command window, first type the CD command:

CD C:\\Program Files (x86)\\ArcSoft\\TotalMedia Theatre 5\\Codec

and press Enter and then

regsvr32 ASAudioRenderer.dll

and Enter.

Or alternatively just Run one command from windows:

regsvr32 C:\\Program Files (x86)\\ArcSoft\\TotalMedia Theatre 5\\Codec\\ASAudioRenderer.dll

It should work with .114.

Thanks Tulli, i shall give it a shot and report back.

Run the command window as admin.

Tulli, I simply love you. Every thing works fine now but I had to block Haali splitters in order for smooth playback.
Hi Tulli, I just happen to see your thread "EDID Overrides" and would like to ask to juts let me know whatis this all about. I wont bother you, but still would like to give it a try. Is that about if someone has 1.3 HDMI then he/she can also enjoy FULL 3D HD blu-ray, or what is it about?. Thank you.
