Cox Channel Lineup with QAM tuner in Hampton Roads, Va.

I live in York County, Va. and currently get Cox service. I am considering an LCD TV for my bedroom, but dont have room for a cable box. Does anyone know what channels I might get in HD if I purchase a TV with a QAM tuner? (Cox said they would only "guarantee" the major networks and wasnt very fortchcoming with more info). This could drive my decision on the TV in a different direction.Thanks.

I am in James City County and have tried my Cox cable directly on my Vizio HD TV and my Pinnacle USB digital tuner. The only open QAM channels Cox has available are the major OTA stations, WAVY weather, VTC, a bunch of shopping channels and the on demand promo channels. The Vizio TV will not display either WVEC or WGNT because Cox has 2 HD signals sharing cable channel 73 and that was incompatible for the Vizio tuner. The Pinnacle was able to display them and Cox knows about the quirk but is not going to address it.

Only the local HD they carry, unless Cox makes a mistake.

AVS members have found web sites that try and track the specific QAM channel number are usually wrong, due to cablecos relocating HD channels on a somewhat regular basis.
