DTS sound stutter

Here is my win2k blackbox setup:

gigabyte ga-m61pme-s2
2gb ram
amd le 2.0 ghrz am2
pioneer dvd combo ide drive
coax spdif out hooked to on board mobo pins
win2k
media player classic
k-lite-codec pack
onboard gpu (6100)

Here is my issue. When i play a dvd such as daredevil, with DTS enabled. The sound stutters badly, BUT if i rip the movie to the hdd and play it, it does not stutter at all. I even went and bought a new dvd drive and the same thing happens on all movies even in dolbly digital. Yes my sound system can decode both formats.

I like to use spdif out because my sound system sounds beeter when it decodes it itself rather than having it hooked up via 6 channel direct and having my x-fi xtreme music edition decode it.

Please help me

thanx

What audio decoder is being used for watching DVD?
In MPC, Play-> Filters

Thats a very good question. I have no idea. I am under the suspicion that i am supposed to use ac3 filter to have it send the sound out the spdif right to me sound system. I thought that mpc automatically used ac3 filter by default. Give me a few minutes and i can re hook up the pc and check for you. MPC is having issues though. It is mirroring the video. If that makes any sense. one half of the screen shows the same picture as the other half.

dont know if this is important but the coax is a homemade connection that i found here on these forums.

Are you sure its passthrough??

Are you referring to MPC or the spdif pins on me mobo?

I know that if i rip the movie to the HDD it plays dts just fine. But with dvd play back it does not. If i can get this to work then im going to buy a 50$ gpu and make a htpc using xbmc.
