It's called a BUMP! Hopefully not a very large BUMP, just enough to wake em up.....

Wait for It, wait.................... wait, I hear something.......
be careful. don't wake the zombies... They'll slowly lumber towards/after you and WILL eventually get you....
Clearly Hanes is getting about as much basement work done as I am... ;-)

Yes, I am still alive and kicking, contrary to rumors and forlorn hopes ...

I see the natives are getting restless again ... and even some of the old regulars from prehistoric times are crawling back out of their deep, dark hiding places to give me grief!

OK, the shocking truth is I haven't made much progress because . That's not to say that I have been completely idle, but somewhere about right next door to that sounds about right. But somebody has to monitor everyone else's build threads to make sure the others aren't slacking off! And that somebody might as well be me!

Thankyouverymuch.

I'm just nagging you in the hopes that noone notices my build thread has been practically silent for quite a while.
Well the master does return. Hanes it is good to see er ah hear from you.

Brad,

I admire your ulterior motive. I think I'll be borrowing it in the future.

Since my kids are all more or less "growed up" now and not really into trick or treating anymore, I had to resort to corrupting one of my little nephews tonight.

I don't think his parents will ask Uncle Hanes to help with trick or treating again next year. Mission accomplished!

Happy Halloween, all!
Yup, mine too are getting that way. My oldest is done with the trick or treating thing, my youngest still goes, but not with his dad, "that would be weird" so my nephews come to the hood to go with me. Lots of fun!

Glad to see you are still around these here parts!

Hanes - this is TOO FUNNY!

Reminds me of a scene from Hawaii 50 last night.
One of the cops took his daughter trick or treating, and this redneck guy who was out of candy put two "airline miniatures" into her bucket

Wobble Wobble Wobble... Hanes, where are you.....

Hanes has become a drive by poster even in his own thread. He is far too busy now trying to find the meaning of life, a solution to cold fusion, worm holes, and world hunger. With all of that going on we are lucky that he even has time to visit AVS let alone post.

Very good plan coming from the biggest turkey here at AVS!

I hope your Thanksgiving was an enjoyable one. Take care and we'll see ya around.

Here ye here ye! Let the records state, it has been every bit of 11 months since my last visit to this site, let alone this thread and I didnt see one single update pic!!! (about the hanes project anyway)

Good to know somethings never change. Unlike Quarterbacks in the NFL. So long Peyton, we're gonna miss you.

Well this is HIS thread right? So he can not update if he wants to. Hanes is still around though. He is a drive through poster. Makes a quick post in a thread goes to the next. He makes his rounds, and then does it all over again. He has even been a "regular" on my thread.

Yup,

I'm afraid that the Indy is not big enough (nor the pocketbook) for two first round draft pics. Manning will either retire, or go somewhere else, but I think that Mannings time in Indy is done. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. Lots of changes for the horseshoe, not a bad thing, just different.

I told him not to hook up the projector before the room was done...

It appears I have created a monster here - or a bunch of monsters! Updates?! Progress?! What the hell have some of you people been smoking?!?!

Hundreds upon hundreds of AVSForum build threads documenting actual, honest-to-goodness BUILDING, and yous all end up here - of all places! - looking for more of the same?! Have you forgotten which thread you're posting in?! Didn't any of your parents teach you that you can't get water from a stone, or blood from a turnip!?

All right, I can see I'll need to once again placate the riff raff here again with my semi-annual post wherein I don't really tell you anything except for the fact that you all need some professional help for continually coming back here for more. Ergo, time for another counseling session with ...

Pink Freud!

I know, piss poor pun, but I'm done apologizing to you lot, as your standards are obviously below measurement (and contempt) if you are still here reading this! You have only yourself to blame really!

OK, tough times call for tough measures, so I actually was foolish enough to subject myself to the pain of going back quite a ways into this sorry excuse of a thread to see what the last real update might have been.

Man. That was painful!

Who knew that AlGore had even invented the interweb back in the early Middle Ages when I last included some photos on pseudo progress involving remotes and an almost finished equipment closet. Thereafter, only useful non-build posts exchanging insults with my handful of "enlightened" readers i.e. you crazy bastards (yes you - you know who I'm talkin' about!)

Now most people might conclude from such a track record that I haven't been doing squat for a long time. But that would be inaccurate. Really.

I haven't been doing squat for a really, REALLY REALLY long time. So there! Please make a note of that for future reference. There will be a test on this stuff.

Actually, this extensive research revealed the startling discovery that - apparently at some point in the past decade - I actually upgraded my screen from a super High Definition, state-of-the-art sheet to a painted wall!

I will pause here for a moment to allow my dear readers to catch their collective breath and retrieve their proverbial jaws from off the ground.

< Pregnant Pause>

Welcome back.

No doubt, this incredible development will inevitably lead to multiple offers to showcase my HT build in one of these high class HT magazines I hear about from other folks here who, ostensibly, have actually completed their theaters (curses on you and your descendants yea, verily, even unto the 7th generation of the 7th generation!)

Where was I again?

Ah, yes, so here is my bi-annual "progress" shots of this radical, cutting edge screen transformation.

Original HD sheet:

Obligatory blue tape shot:

Painted screen after the first coat of paint:

Shot of the finished screen:

< reserved for future picture of finished screen, which I will someday get around to taking a picture of, just as soon as I manage to take a long overdue and well deserved break from movie watching, and remember where I left my bloody camera>

And you lot thought I hadn't accomplished anything in the past year or so! HA! Guess I TOTALLY showed YOU!

Still, amazingly, my bride (who is apparently never satisfied) has begun dropping subtle hints asking if I think the room might *possibly* be finished some time before all our kids move out and give us grandchildren, but I'm sure I satisfied her with a very clever, original quip about patience being a virtue. Not sure she completely "got" my brilliant wit there, though, as her response sounded something like this:

Silly woman!

Obviously she needs, like me, to evolve zen-like to a higher level of consciousness than mere patience:

Thus endeth this year's dramatic update.

Be sure to stay tuned for next year's episode when, rumor has it, somebody might actually do something somewhere somehow sometime.

Or not.

Until then, I'll be giving up HT construction for Lent, as I really need to take a break from all this building activity, and perhaps watch a movie or two. Or three.

Bravo Hanes, Bravo.

I for one am impressed at your progress and the speed of your progress. In fact you have made so much progress you can probably count it for the next update as well.

Glad to see you on your thread.
