Difference between HF10 and HF11? Only the internal storage?

What's the difference between the Canon HF11 and HF10?

I'm looking at the specifications on the Canon website and everything looks 100% exactly identical except that the HF11 has 16 GB more internal storage.

Seeing as how both cameras accept SDHC cards, that doesn't seem worth the extra $100 or even $200 price difference.

Are there any other differences between them?

I might just go ahead and order the HF10 if the cameras are otherwise identical...

sofa, this topic has been covered both here and on the internet to an insane degree..not sure how you missed it..

The HF10 can only shoot up to 17mbps, whereas the HF11 can do 24mbps.
It is debatable, but many believe that the 24mbps can interpret scenes with motion or heavy detail better. Camcorderinfo called the HF11's 24mbps the "cherry on the top", but claimed there wasn't a huge difference between the cams.

Perhaps Canon also updated things with the firmware/encoder. I haven't seen confirmation of this, but they probably tweaked something along the way.

Darn! All of these camcorders are starting to get mixed up in my head. I'm sorry.

I did know about the 17 Mbps but I had forgotten. I also know about the debate between 24 Mbps and 17 Mbps but thanks for the reminding me.

Sorry for posting this

Well... if you can hold out a little longer, I just saw today that B&H is selling the HF11 for $799..and this is the first time in 4 months that I've seen the price drop from $850... So, it look like the first signs of the HF11 dropping with the arrival of the new cams...

maybe you can score it for under $700 in the next couple of months.. probably worth waiting for, if money's an issue.

I don't know if this will also translate to the HF10 also dropping lower, but they probably stopped making them..who knows what the price will go to.

Yeah, I saw the B&H price drop this morning too. I also talked with them and they said the price drop is permanent and not a sale.

I've also been checking Amazon, NewEgg, and B&H almost every day for the last month or so and this is also the first price drop I've seen so I might take it but I don't know. I don't NEED a camcorder for a while so maybe it's worth waiting but I'm really not sure how much more this camcorder will drop until an HF12 (?) is released...
