Flicker on Panny 58pz850u?!?

So I have the 58pz850, and I notice a flicker. No not the 24fps flicker, I'm talking when I watch standard def DVD's on my ps3 I have a slight flicker every so often on the tv. Its like a thin white bar that pops up and goes away instantly, but if I rewind the movies and watch the same clip it doesn't always happen. Could that be the TV or the PS3? Is there anything I could adjust to fix this?

If it only occurs when using the PS3...why would you think it's the tv?

Because all I watch are movies. And this was never an issue with the 42px80 I had out there previously

What I'm trying to say is....try other sources (regular dvd player, OTA television etc.) and if you don't get the same flickering then there may be a setting on the PS3 that needs to be changed. It's called process of elimination.

edit- unless of course you really just hate your Panny...I see 3 different threads with one bashing the black levels, one complaining of IR and then this one with flicker that is supposedly the fault of the tv.

I actually love the tv. However I will not be posting pictures, reviews, or any positive thoughts until after I'm over 200 hours, I get the backlighting I want, and I get some nice accent lighting for my entertainment center.

I Sell tv's, which is I guess unfortunate because I know what a pioneer would look like in my house... I just couldn't afford the extra 1200 dollars. IR doesn't bother me, it's not a big deal, and that post was actually about my bedroom tv. I was just wondering why the IR was there almost instantly.

Only complaint I have about the tv is that the black levels leave MUCH to be desired.

Yeah, I have an 07 model Panasonic and it doesn't have perfect blacks. To make myself feel better I go to friends houses with lcd's that they paid more for...and enjoy an even lighter shade of gray/black. You do get used to it after a while though..
