Looking to increase my HTPC external storage/backup. I currently have a Macally G-S350SU I use for backup, connected directly to my SageTV server.
This device has a sleep function which powers the drive down after 15min of inactivity. (backups are done at 3:00am). This sleep function is "independent" of OS or interface used.
What I'm looking for is a 2-bay USB device which has a similar sleep function.
It could be RAID, JBOD.............whatever?
Seems to me it would save wear and tear on the drive and save energy.
Any comments, alternatives would be appreciated.
