so here's the situation-
I have a 7.1 focal setup with a 106 in pj screen. I currently have 2 velodyne spl1200-r subs in the front set at 270degrees out of phase (which gives by far the best results of the 4 opptions) about a few inches from the back wall behind the 2 l/r mains (pics to follow tonight).
That is all well and good but given the cement floor under the carpet I am adding 2 spl-800r subs to fill things out a bit--my question is
would it be best to put them in the back of the room facing forward, on the sides of the couches (perpendicular to the larger subs) or in front of the room in between the other 2 subs. There are currently 2 rows of seating, one on a 12"platform. room size in total is 625 sq ft with 8 ft drop ceilings. the rectangular listening/movie watching area area is about 26X12 and rectangular. is there a way of pre-planning what is likely to be the best setup or is there no way of predicting other than trial and error (and hearing what works best)?
