How loud do you currently have your PL200 set to volume wise on the sub itself and the receiver?

I have mine set at the 10 o'clock position on the sub and 0 on the receiver and I have an Onkyo 709. Trust me it's plenty loud. I just got my Mythos ones in the other day but I am doing field training and won't be back for a few more days so I can't wait to re setup the subs as the Mythos ones have a crossover setting of 60HZ and would love to sample some more music and see how the sub responds to a different crossover as they are set to 120HZ with my Mythos five speakers.

Ok kool. I have mine set to 12 position and the receiver to -5db. The audessy initially set it to -15db. Do you think its better to put it at 0 on the receiver and decrease it on the sub?

I was always told to set the receiver at 0 and adjust the subs level.

Cool, thanks. I will do that.

Is anyone else's grill slightly offset to the right when on the sub. Mine is off center about 0.25-0.5in off. No big deal to me but just wondering.

Mine has no issue, but I haven't really got that close to them to notice I set them up and started to enjoy them.

I haven't done Audessy yet on mine mainly because I was waiting for my new fronts to come in. Once I get back home in a few days I will move the fronts I did have to the rear and incorprate the new mains and then run Audessy. I am interested in what Audessy will dial in my subs. I think most people go with 0 reference on the sub output and manually dial in the sound to there taste.

If my home sells soon, I'll be building a new home with a much larger home theater. I currently use my PL-200 in a 12 x 15 x 8 room and it fills the space just fine. My new theater plans are about 16 x 25 x 9.

Should I only use my one PL-200 or should I plan on using two?

Please defend your advice.

I use 4 subs in my theater. The room is 25x13x8. The 2 PL-200s I use really filled up the space with strong bass but 4 subs sound incredible. I use 2 PL-200s in the rear of the room and 2 Klipsch RW-12s in the front. They play very well together. The sound is similar.

Damn! The bass must sound insane with four of those. Especially if they are all peaking at 1000 watts during a movie scene. 4000 watts of pure enjoyment.

The two outlets up front run off their own 20amp breaker and the outlets in the rear of the room run on their own 20amp breaker. I never had one of them trip yet....

Thats a pretty sweet setup you got there my friend!!! I am limited to my family room which I am still trying to get setup. I have completely switch over to Blu (thanks to my DVD's being stolen) I closing in on 400 Blu-Rays myself. Amazon Prime and free two day shipping is your friend!!!

Yeah, I always use Amazon for my Blu-ray purchases. I got Underworld coming in a few days...can't wait to crank that one up !!! The best thing about that is my wife is dying to see it also. So it will be no holding back on the volume that night !!!!

Amazon. It looks good but it is not heavy at all. It is a hollow plastic sign but it serves it's purpose. I change it everytime I watch a movie. That might sound a little geeky but I enjoy the idea of before I walk into my room the title of the movie I'm watching that night is posted up. Kind of makes it official

Sweet I have the Blade Trilogy that came in and is waiting for me so that first weekend back its going to be loud. I am waiting to see if Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol will drop in price so I can pick that up been dying to see that one.

I rarely blind buy a movie. I would rent it from Netflix and if I like it, then I will wait for a sale on Amazon before I pick it up. I love all of the Underworld films so this is one of those blind purchases I made.

Update review:
Ok so I've had this sub for almost a month and this thing still rocks hard in movies. I have it set to halfway and its definitely a room shaker. I hear my light fixtures rattle during heavy action scenes and you can hear it throughout the house. I cant imagine the bass when turned all the way up which i haven't done yet :-). I will stay with this sub for a long time.

Do not do this unless you want to buy a new sub. with the amp as efficient as it is in this sub, running it at halfway is even a little hot for some movies.

Yea, I get what your saying, but I love bass. I know it should be a few notches lower for my room size.
