I just screw up and now I need to REPLACE a broken HDMI terminal board on my TH42PH9UK
My wife asked me to rearrange the AV equipment, and in my infinite wisdom, I torqued the hell out of the HDMI cable while it was still attached to the unit. It bent the hell out of the connection end of the cable and apparently ruined the terminal board connection. The unit is on a stand, and whoever designed the space between the stand and the board connections (very small), should be fired
After a few new 4-letter words (the old ones didn't cut it), I figured I would JUST order a new terminal board and replace it.
Well, now I know that this was more of a screw-up that I first thought based on the difficulty in getting this part.
I hope I can get a new board as described in the last few posts.
I did end up connecting to the unit via the component out from my receiver. I am using the digital audio outs on my DVR and DVD into my receiver. The picture looks ok. Is it "better" to connect via HDMI (better picture quality) or forget trying to get a new board replacement altogether?
Thanks for advice.
