Newbie question re screens and sound

I may be about to buy my first screen for a NEC CRT projector. The way my room is set up, at least the center channel needs to be behind the screen. I hate to lose sound quality, as I like my system's clarity and accuracy, especially on vocals (ML reQuests on each side, ML Logos as the center channel). Do I need a perforated screen? If so, who sells a perforated pull-down screen? So far, that seems to be a hard find for me.

Any advice or recommendations appreciated.

Bruce,

Take a look at Stewart's Luxus Communicator. This screen as well as all of Stewart's ElectriScreen models are available with an optional THX MicroPerf.

Stewart's MicroPerf screens come with an equalizer which allows you to compensate for your speakers being behind the screen. While I don't have one of these screens (yet), and you're sure to hear differing opinions, I've heard on several occasions that the overall effect on sound quality is negligible.

AVS is a Stewart dealer, so if you want pricing info you can email jason@avscience.com.

(FWIW I'm just a member here...beyond that I have no association with either Stewart or AV Science)

Chip--

Excellent. Looks like precisely what I was searching for. I've e-mailed Jason.

Thanks a bunch for the help. This board is great.
