Panasonic V10 [NO PRICE TALK PLEASE] - Page 345

I recall seeing somewhere where one is able to tell how many hours the TV has been used or turned on. Please let me know how this is done. Just peeked through the manual and was unable to locate the info.

Thanks

Google service menu 65v10 and your should find your answers. Just don't mess around in there!

Noise reduction question. When I had my LCD, turning any NR on cause blurring/smearing. I have always been one for leaving all the "special" settings off when viewing BDs. On my plasma I tried turning on the NR and mosquito NR, and strangely I didn't notice any artifacting. Can anyone tell me, from experience, what the negative "side effects" of having NR turned to high on the 58v10?

I would also like to know if this is possible. I have not been able to hear sound via the optical out of the TV while using Pandora or Youtube.

Can you turn off the auto off feature of the tv? It keeps timing down then off during football games.

I've had my 58V10 for just a year now. I've noticed the rising black level, but not enough to bug me. I've got FW 1.27 and just asking if there is a need to upgrade from that....any changes or improvements? As it's not in a ideal location for hooking up the internet cable (wall mounted)

Do you notice IR getting worse and do you game at all on your set?

I beleive the only thing the latest firmware added was Twitter in viera cast.

Disable "Menu--Setup--ECO/energy saving--No activity for 3 hours"

Break In Slides

OK I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times however I can't seem to find the answer posted: Where do I find break in slides? (sorry for such a basic question)

I've been in the market for a 65" plasma (currently have a 50 inch Vizio 720p set) and I'm seriously at the V10. It's between the V10 and the S2 (I just can't justify the cost of the V25) and was wondering if there's any reason why I should go with the S2 over the highly regarded V10. I'm aware of the rising blacks issue, but it seems to be up in the air as to whether that might affect the S2 also.

Would anyone recommend I not buy the V10?

My IR has been getting worse, almost always have some ghosts from when I game but it never burns in and usually goes away quickly with standard TV watching. Nothing for me to be concerned about IMO. If it starts getting tough to remove, that's when I may panic a bit.

I love my 65" V10, I've had it for a few weeks. But in the back of my mind I always think about the black rise problem. I wish I never knew about it and then I probably wouldn't ever notice. I bought an extended warranty through squaretrade so if the blacks ever get unbearable I may have to "break" my TV. LOL

Go for the V10 it is a great unit, especially for the price. I've had mine 11 months and it looks fantastic.

I have owned my 65" V10 for nearly a year. Well worth the price. Also, I recommend getting a mack warranty (it's dirt cheap compared to the price of the unit). I just spoke to Brad from there and they seem very customer-service oriented.

Thanks for the replies! I ordered the 65v10 from Amazon - it's scheduled for delivery on Friday. I can't wait!

Your going to love it! I have enjoyed every minute watching it for the last year!
It STILL looks great to me! Maybe the 65" are not as affected as the smaller units? Tho, I never visit that evil thread. All it did was make me regret my purchase for a few months. All stressed out. Finally I said screw it, not gonna read this anymore.
Enjoy.

My V10 50" has been having issues lately turning on. It takes a two or three power on clicks from the remote now before it goes on. Has anyone else had issues like this?

Have you tried powering the tv using the on/off button on the tv itself. Maybe you're having a problem with the remote?

Check the batteries?

My parents needed a new TV as their Mitsu rear projection was starting to lose its brightness. I had debated getting the new Panasonic 3D and giving them my TC-P65v10. I have about 2000 hours on it now. Decided to just buy another one as they are really inexpensive at the present time. I ended up getting it for about a grand less than what I had paid the year before. This is truely a great TV in spite of the problems concerning Blacks etc. That is how much faith I have in this set. Plus I just cannot see spending an extra $1200 to get a set that I might use for 3D three or four times a year. I had not heard via the other forums that the picture quality of the 2010 was superior to the 2009 model. I understand that the 2011 model will have some better blacks but frankly I think that gets too much press. It is one factor in watching a movie.

Batteries are not the issue. I am waiting for the problem to happen again, I removed the black tape I had over the red power LED to see if it's blinking. I found a few posts where the LED will blink 7 or 8 times to indicate an error.

Hopefully it's nothing big. Keep us posted.

It did again twice. The red LED goes on for about a second and then goes off (no blinking). I have to wait about 20-30 seconds now before the TV will respond to the remote. Then it turns on and is fine.

Couldn't find this issue on the net, which only means it's not real common, so you may need to contact Panasonic on this one. Is the set under warranty?

I've been eyeing the 65V10 for a few months now and I see that The Big River only has a few left. Do you think they will get more or is that it since it's last year's model? I'm debating between the V10 or S2.

Go for the V10 those are probably the last ones. I am getting close to owning a 65V10 for a full year. It has over 2000 hrs on it (don't ask) and it looks great. We have been more than pleased with it.

Well I took a first step into getting it. I bought some gift cards from Amazon and will be getting $100 back from them, so the V10 will be cheaper. Also, I'll be getting more money back from through their Reward point system. Bottom line is that I'll be getting the V10 for about $250 less than advertised from The Big River.

Have you had your set calibrated? And have you noticed any black level rise?
