I'm waiting for someone to measure black levels and do some serious IR testing with them.

That is what I have been thinking of doing but we don't really have any high end stores near me. Hopefully BB will carry both in store and not just in their Magnolia branches.

I've just heard really terrible nightmares when I looked into Samsung TVs a few months back. Most people had no problems with their TVs, but those that did have some horror stories to tell about Samsung customer service. It really turned me off of their products. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with getting an under warranty Samsung TV repaired/replaced?

I want at least 65" therefore Samsung is a no game to me but as an owner of both brands I would go with Panasonic any time.

The pics or the tv?

The pics came from this site: http://www.panasonic.de/html/de_DE/P...#anker_2195888 where they mention 42" & 50" models. The U.S. will have a 50", 54" 58" & 65", but not a 42". The pics are from the model p50v10e. The press release also mentions DivX & dlna support. Boy, I hope we get those features in the U.S.

I can't find v10's anywhere on Panasonics site. Are they still coming out? If they are close I would think there would be some mention of them on the site. I don't see the Z model either for that matter. Am I missing something?

My daughter had a Samsung LCD (42" as I recall, next to the top of the line) fail just before it turned one year old (luckily). It took two repair trips, and the repairman warned that it might take a second trip as he completed the first visit, but that he wanted to be conservative. It failed again a few days after the first visit and he returned to replace nearly every circuit board. No problems since. No complaints here.

It looks like Panasonic will add the sets to their site when they are available for sale. Currently, the G10 is the highest quality model for 2009 available. Here are some press release for the 2009 models:

The 50" V series is slated for release in late May or June, but no one has found any concrete dates. The Z model isn't supposed to arrive until late summer either from what I recall. You might want to check out the 12G Panasonic thread for more information on expected release dates. From my memory, 50" V's in late May/June, 54" in late summer as well...but they are still coming. I am personally waiting on them as well.

Thanks for the pictures okej01 (and others)! I'm one of those nerds that likes to download them and place them on a diagram to see how it would look with my other equipment I never noticed the silver trim along the top until now- any reason to believe the cosmetics will be different between a German/European model and the US model? Just curious...

The following page has a line that looks like this:
VIERA Global Site Home > You are here:PRODUCT (US) > containsV series (Plasma)

http://panasonic.net/avc/viera/us/product/v_plasma.html

Since it says US, I am going to go with the V10 will look just like the pics I posted here #155
post #165 of 10489
This raises an interesting question though b/c in the above pics the base is silver, but in the promotional images on panasonic's site for the US model it is black. Personally I would much rather have the black stand as the silver looks a bit distracting.

Nice, Sonyboy! Thanks for the update. I am, personally, waiting to see what CNET says about it and the new Samsung plasmas before I make a purchase.

Panny said 50V for May, and we see it is now available. They said 54+ V Series simply for Summer. BTW, late May/June is late Spring.

I have a PZ85, which I love.

The colors and Black level are fine on my PZ85, and I wouldn't upgrade just due to those items being slightly improved.

But I am sensitive to 3:2 pull down, I don't like seeing judder, even just a little.

Is the V10 going be able to show 1080p/24 WITHOUT any flashing or any problems whatsoever.

I was going to buy the G10, until I found out it screws up 24p playback just as bad as the 850u did.

WHAT THE HECK is the point of the G10 and 850u having 48hz playback if its flashes and makes it unwatchable, its a joke.

If the V10 is the same, there is no way I want one.

I am looking forward to the Panasonic TC-P50V10.I currently have the Sammy UN46B6000,very Sweet TV but slight flashlighting and clouding hold it back.Looking for something a bit better. And i like what the UK review said about gaming on this TV.Thats a BIG plus for me since i am a hardcore gamer.Burn-in on plasmas are a thing of the past correct? This would be my first plasma...

Exciting to see this pop up on vanns. I hope the cnet review comes up by mid-june, anyone know how long it usually takes them? I was postponing buying the g10 until seeing how these look.

The V10 refreshes 24p at 96hz, so it should not be a problem.

Oh and I just ordered the V10 from Vanns. Gotta love online, got the TV and a 3yr service contract for the same price as Panasonic's list price.

Old Story, but interesting. http://www.our-picks.com/tag/pzr900 It states the Japanese 2008 Panasonic tv models also sports a 1TB HDD for recording up 86 hours worth of your favourite TV shows from the BS digital broadcasting system in Japan.

My bad Here in Ohio we don't really have transitions between seasons or even weather patterns for that matter haha.

Either way, looking forward to some first impressions/pictures of these 50V's! Start those delivery trucks!

Just an update: I received a tracking # for my order. I'll post pics in the Panasonic pics thread once everything is set up.

Wow, I was still sitting here skeptical about the V10 actually being in stock. My 50" V10 is still not scheduled to be able to be picked up until 6/11. So I assume yours will arrive sometime next seek? I am a bit envious, but I will hold out until mid June, I know I still got a great price. Take lots of pics and post em.

Perhaps you will be pleasantly surprised with an earlier delivery than you had anticipated.

I am waiting on the 65 - hope it is here by football season.

Wonder of Chris or Roman have any V10 stock available?
According to Vann's, it was sent to the shipper already, the shipper they use for large TV's is YRC (Yellow-Roadway) and they won't have any info until tomorrow, but I just called YRC and an estimate from Vann's ZIP code to mine means that I should be getting it sometime late next week (I live in FL).

I also ordered an Onkyo 9100 HTIB, a Panny BD60 blu-ray player and some other goodies to go along with it.
