We purchased from a local dealer, Myer Emco, that offers a 30 day price guarantee and a 90-day upgrade to a larger size. Basically, within 90 days you can exchange your set, apply what you paid towards the cost of a larger one and upgrade. We absolutely love the 54" and think it looks fine, but wonder if there is any harm in upgrading, especially since the sale price at BB on the 58" is only $100 more than we paid for the 54".

My question is about the 'one sheet of glass' design of the 54" compared to 58". Anyone have a picture of the 58" in their home or on a showroom floor? (Chris - Cleveland Plasma) We really like the look of the top piece of glass on the 54" and wondering what the 58" is like.

Are there any other differences between the two, besides the glass and the size?

Thanks,
mark

I really like the one sheet of glass design on my 54V10 but I'd trade it for a bigger size the 58V10 if I could. My advice is go up in size if your viewing distance allows. As the link above will show only 50 and 54V10's have the one sheet of glass design.

Please note that the following specifications for the Panasonic TC-P58V10 series are incorrect:

Dimensions (H x W x D) without Stand 56.0" × 34.7" × 2.5" (3.7")
Dimensions (H x W x D) with Stand 56.0" × 36.8" × 15.3"[/quote]

They should read: (W x H x D), NOT (H x W x D).

I have the EPP through my work and the current discount is 13.22% for the 54V10. Not sure how 13.22% becomes 40%.

Could the difference be due to the actual "Panasonic Employee" discount program versus the EPP program used with participating non-Panasonic employers?

I haven't looked at this thread in a while. It seems to be largely an employee pricing discussion now. However, the discussion of a price drop made me curious. I checked BB's website and the 54V10 and 58V10 are selling for the same price. Interesting.

Just sold my Pioneer 5080HD and picked up the 54" V10. Started the break in about 3 hours ago. I'm super excited, I'm sitting about 8 feet away and can instantly notice the extra sharpness of 1080p.

I played around in custom mode to give it a look before I started the break-in. Threw in The Dark Knight on Blu and watched the opening 6 min... breathtaking.

Unlike what my fiance tells me...size does matter.

Adding 4" for a $100? That's a deal any guy would take. Get the 58.

I was just in the web site for that store and they now have the 54V10 and the
58V10 for the same price.

What is going on with that?

If you meant the Myer Emco website, I just checked. They are not listing the V10 as of now,

Same with Best Buy.
54V10 pricing = 58V10 pricing ... supply & demand.

Panny needs to ramp up production of the 54s and should have anticipated the huge popularity of that sizing.
There appears to be a significant 54V10 shortage in CT. I was able to snag one from another store that was destined to be put up on display. It took a phone call between the two store managers to transfer the TV to my local store. They could not even order me one.

Interesting that the 58 and 54 are now the same price. I wish I could go bigger but have space limitations.
Ordered a 58V10 on Saturday night . Got them to do the TV for $xxxx (around 25% off from the then-current price of $xxxx) and bought the 4-yr. warranty for $399.99. Plus got 36 month interest free financing (hey if they want to give me free money why not!).

It will be delivered September 22nd .

So I'm getting ready to buy the 58" V10. I'm pretty much 99% set on the 58" except that HH Gregg doesn't carry that size. I'm in GA and only want to order locally to make it easy to deal with if I have any problems. I'm not married to HH Gregg, but they seem to be the easiest to make a deal with.

So how much are people paying for the 58" total (shipped/delivered after tax)? Where are you buying it from? I know it is frowned upon to say in a thread in case you anger sponsors, so can you please PM me if you don't want to post?

Are you choosing to have it delivered that late, or is Best Buy way under stock or something? I'm buying a home at the end of September and I'll be moving in on the 25th. Just curious if I should be buying it now if I need to give a month notice.
We're probably getting into gray areas of the forum rules, so without talking specific numbers, what did you do to get them to lower the price?
Just a reminder of some of the rules.

Thanks

The non-standard pattern is 27"(684mm) x 11.9" (300mm).

I went in to bb yesterday, as I had spoken to someone there during the week that said the 65" should be in sunday or monday. My bday was saturday so I was pumped. I get there and the kid said they had 23 in the warehouse on saturday in socal which supplies az, ca, and nv. Yesterday they had none! I should have went in saturday. Oh well. I ordered it, and it should be at the store for pick up at the latest 9/16, but he seems to think it will be earlier as that was there first allotment. I have been waiting patiently for months. I am so excited. I got a pretty good deal as I had a 12% off coupon, $300 in gift cards and $100 in rewards points. I did get the warranty and a calibration for $100 less then normal cost. I got the manager to throw in a blu ray as well. I probably could have got more out of him, but they treated me well so I didn't want to be pushy or a pain in the arse! The kid said I could call him every day to check on the warehouse stock. I did ask him what the stock was when we left lol. Now I gotta wait it out! It's gonna replace a 56" samsung dlp.

Just placed my order for a 58V10 with Cleveland Plasma.

I'm extremely excited. Replacing a Toshiba theaterwide 42" Plasma... should be a huge step up

They told me that the earliest delivery date was the 14th but I asked them to set it to the 25th. We just bought a house and it won't be ready to move in until sometime around that date.

I just got the 65" S1...at BB and I'm on the fence on whether I'm going to exchange it for the V10. Oh and they didn't have a V10 in stock. I kind of want the V10 though. What do you guys think
post #4343 of 10509
I think you are getting some damn good exercise.
Could someone who has 65V10 take measurements of the box? I'm thinking of picking one of these up locally (across the border in tax-free NH) and would like to make sure that it'll fit in my van.

Thanks -- Steve

What's wrong with the S1?
Jeeze,, you guys are already buying your 65" Panasonics and Im still waiting to be able to just see one and check one out.

I guess its cuz I live in the tiny little town called Las Vegas that no one has ever heard of and none of the 8 or so BestBuys here have any idea when they are getting the S1's or the V10's in

Cheers

I'm guessing they're the same as well, so yes, that would be great.
