Just noticed two recent ongoing rebates on Panasonic Plasma TVs.
One is "up to $200 Installation Fee Rebate", and the other is "HDTV together with eligible installation services/product add-ons".
Anyone have experience?

My mistake: the first rebate from Panasonic was for purchase made in last year

The second rebate from Panasonic

I work for a retailer (hhgregg). Panasonic told us about the rebates on monday and they go through beginning of may. $150 for 720ps, $200 for 1080p. It requires purchase of service with a tv, which can be installation (our normal delivery which includes basic installation counts as installation) or premium service plan. It can essentially make the 5 year service plan on the 720p's $50.

Quick timesaver for everyone. Here is the key text from the rebate form:

PRODUCT ELIGIBILITY:
The following Panasonic Viera Plasma HDTV models shipped during the promotional dates qualify:
TC-P50G10, TC-P46G10, TC-P42G10, TC-P50S1, TC-P46S1, TC-P42S1 - receive up to $200.00
TC-P50X1, TC-P42X1, TC-50PS14 - receive up to $150.00
TC-42PX14, TC-50PX14 - receive up to $100.00

Eligible Installation Services/Product Add-ons include: Installation or delivery services, warranty or set-up fees, Wall mounts,
lifts, stands or home theater furniture.

I am about to pull the trigger on the P50G10 with a +2 year warranty. Will basically get the warranty for free.

My TC-P50G10 was shipped today. Unfortunately I didnt get an extended warranty on it and take advantage of the free $200... I just checked and the tv and the add-on need to be on the same receipt to qualify. This is a great deal for those who haven't ordered theirs yet

I'd bet 10 bucks that you could get the merchant to rework the invoice to add on a warranty. Gratz on the new G10. I've been debating on if I should hold out for a better price.

The submission list requires "4 Your installation product add-on UPC", and
"Include the UPC label from the installation product add- on, including the part number, serial number product description, and bar code where applicable. Your claim cannot be processed without a installation product add-on UPC".

Does a warrenty comes with a UPC?

Yes the one rebate has some of the older TV's. Yours is listed on it

I saw this rebate a while back, the problem I can't find anything else to add to it. I think I'll just buy a cheap Mount and sell it on e-bay.
Thats a lot of money back for some of Panasonic's lower to mid level models. Why were the high end models left out like the 800u and 850u? I know those are marked down already but if you think about it all TVs are.

Read that first rebate carefully ... you will notice that it has 2008 dates and has long expired.

There was a similar rebate last year that covered the "Eligible Installation Services/Product Add-ons to include Installation or delivery services, warranty or set-up fees, Wall mounts, lifts, stands or home theater furniture", where I got a nice TV stand for free.

Thanks for posting that rebate.

Also notice that the $200 rebate Panasonic is currently offering does not work if you make your purchase at Best Buy....
Does anyone know if Amazon.com is considered an authorized panasonic dealer (to be eligible for the rebate)? I called Panasonic, and they do not know (which I find odd). They said I would have to contact Amazon. Not sure how to even contact Amazon.com.
It keeps listing product(s) in plural. Does anyone know if it will cover delivery fees *and* a wall mount so long as both of them come in under $200?
What's even more frustrating, is that if you go the Panasonic website to locate "official" dealers, it seems to exclusively list Best Buy.

Furthermore, the Onecall.com website is advertising the rebate and lets you print a rebate claim form. The form tells you to mail it attn: "Promo 000000" -- how much you want to bet that's a typo and those claims submitted with that # will be refused?

http://media.onecall.com/Image_Rebat...pon%20(v1).pdf

Just a heads-up if anyone tries to order it. Verify the promo # on the claim form.

With this level of disorganization, I have to wonder the likelihood of actually receiving your rebate.

Hopefully they will get their act together shortly.

Well here's the form I'm using anyway:

So, I am reading this right?

PRODUCT ELIGIBILITY:
The following Panasonic Viera Plasma HDTV models shipped during the promotional dates qualify:
TC-P50G10, TC-P46G10, TC-P42G10, TC-P50S1, TC-P46S1, TC-P42S1 - receive up to $200.00
TC-P50X1, TC-P42X1, TC-50PS14 - receive up to $150.00
TC-42PX14, TC-50PX14 - receive up to $100.00

Eligible Installation Services/Product Add-ons include: Installation or delivery services, warranty or set-up fees, Wall mounts,
lifts, stands or home theater furniture.

If you order lets say a TC-P46G10 with the price of the delivery service included on the receipt, you are eligible for a $200.00 rebate from Panasonic?
That's how I read it.
I emailed Panasonic this morning asking if the purchase of an extended warranty from Newegg.com would qualify as a rebate eligible add-on. Said 2-3 days to respond. Will post with response.
I called the rebate center. Since they determine what is and is not a valid rebate, they might be a good resource. Found the number by going to the rebate website listed on the rebate form. The person who answered said that extended warranties are covered, but you don't need a UPC code for them (despite what the rebate form says).

Don't expect a lot from Panasonic customer service re: finding out about Newegg. I called them and they didn't even know there was a rebate available. They gave me a special case # and a special customer service email address in which to further inquire. We'll see what happens.
I was really disappointed to see that BB is excluded, I've got a decent amount of giftcards I need to use there and there extended warranty covers IR/Burn In on Plasma's now.

I wonder what the reasoning is behind that.

I don't think that's exactly right. You will only be reimbursed up to the amount of the delivery. So if the delivery was $49, you're getting a $49 rebate.

From the rebate:
The value of the consumer mail-in rebate cannot exceed the total sale price of the associated installation services/product add-ons.

Wow!
I think you are right. Thats kind of a bummer. So all it is is just paying the price of the "Add on".

Its not actually taking anything off the TV. The site I was ordering 42G10 already have free shipping. I was going to buy some cheap $50 wall mount and sell it on e-bay. Thinking I would get $200. But now there is no point in getting that. I guess its nice to pay for shipping.

Thanks tubaloth, I'll check.

Glad to learn about the $200 Rebate as I finally decided on a Plasma and on the Panasonic G10-42 inch screen. BTW Amazon's CS # is 800-201-7575.

They told me tonight that you can buy a Panasonic extended warranty thru them. It's a bit cheaper than what Panasonic charges. Additional 2-Years of Panasonic Warranty Coverage for Plasma TV ($1000 - $1299.00) Price: $309.99 B001R1OD90 thru Amazon, thru Panasonic the same 2 yr is 349.95.

Question: How true is it that if you purchase a Plasma or LCD under 50" the picture quality bet the 720p and 1080p is not significant?

A 50" is much too big for the room but there are advantages I keep hearing to having 1080p. I'd like some information to help sort this out. Thanks!

Talked to Newegg customer service they verified that they are an authorized Panasonic retailer.

Now its just the S1 or G10 decision.
