Delay playing the Wii on a LN46A650

I've done a search however I can't seem to find an answer. My setup is that I'm running the Wii through my Onkyo 606 receiver (HTS-7100 package) using the regular wii video cable and then my receiver is connected to my TV (LN46A650) via HDMI. However when I play games like DDR (Dance Dance Revolution or guitar hero) it seems like there a delay from which i press the button/switch or stomp the pad to when it registers it on my TV screen. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've also tried to hookup the Wii to the TV directly and it seems like there's still a delay.

I have a Samsung LN46A650 and my Wii has no delay. I have it hooked up directly to the TV rather than going through my receiver/home theater system.

Some questions:
1. Are you running the TV in game mode when you do playing the Wii?
2. Are you using Wii component cables or just the cables that came with the Wii?
3. Are you playing any games like DDR or guitar hero?

1. No
2. Just the cables that came with it.
3. Only guitar hero of those two.

Composite cables (one yellow cable for video) suck and will provide the worst input lag on the TV. Get the component cables (red, green, blue cables for video) for the Wii not only for improved input lag because of the capability of being 480p instead of 480i but will increase picture quality as well.

Second if you still feel its too much try entertainment game mode to lower the input lag. The best input lag numbers on any lcd will be when running in its native resolution which for this is 1080p. 480p is the best Wii can do so you probably will have to use game mode to have input lag low on a non-native resolution source like the Wii.

I think you can find cheap quality component cables from monoprice.com made for the Wii.

Game Mode is probably the only way you're going to (noticeably) reduce this problem on this TV (for Wii and legacy consoles). There may be some questionable third party VGA cables/adaptors to try. With composite cables, you're probably dealing with over 100ms in standard modes. Component and 480p won't be much improvement unfortunately, maybe shave a frame off to somewhere between 80-100ms. I just unhooked my Wii in disgust after I tried it on this TV and haven't played it in 6 or 7 months.

Yeah I made an order last night for component cables from monoprice and tried it out on game mode. I did notice a difference using game mode however I can still notice a little lag also. I'm hoping using the component cables will lower the lag enough to where it will be hardly noticeable at all.

I have to use the wii. It's my main mode of exercise, and I need to get back on track. (Went from 208lbs to 193.5lbs so far since January).

Just wonder if reposition the motion sensor and/or replacing the batterys will correct this.
