No problems at all with channel 5 here - I'm real close to the S. Euclid border (overlooking the Euclid Creek Reservation) in Euclid, so I couldn't be too terribly far away from you.

I am using an outdoor antenna (Antennacraft HBU33) - could it be your antenna, possibly? I don't have a whole lot of luck with indoor antennas at my location, but other than the solar flare (?) problems back a few months ago, channel 5 has never been a problem channel for me, even with an indoor antenna.

Best of luck getting it figured out!

Yes, I have been having some break up problems with WEWS. It's been doing that for a couple weeks, and my outdoor antenna hasn't moved. Every once in a while, the picture and audio will be unwatchable, but sometimes it goes away. Not sure what's causing that.

A couple days ago, I was having issues with WOIO's channel 24 channel, and I can see the tower out my window. My guess was that it was the wind gusts that day.

Did Bounce TV actually begin regular programming? When I finally got around to pointing my antenna in their direction early this evening, there was just a blank screen on 43.2. The Bounce website also still says "TBA 2012" for Cleveland.

They've been up for a few days now. I also noticed they were in black this evening. As of this time they're back up but the 43.3 program information is duplicated on 43.2. TitanTV seems to have the correct program info... -Ed

I've read that LP and class A stations are allowed to use Full Service Masking does anyone think that would help W35AX

Help W35AX in what way?

they are asking for everything to be approved with the interference to channels 15 in Cleveland and 16 in Detroit i guess what i was asking was does the full service mask help with that the interference
post #2528 of 3455
It helps with adjacent-channel interference, such as to that of WEWS or WKYC (which should not be much of an issue). It does not help with co-channel interference, which would be interference to other stations on channel 16.

i noticed for Cambridge OH Channel 18 looks to be open on rabbitears is it possible for WOUC To move there on W35AX application it says that they Claim Displacement because of WOUC
post #2530 of 3455
The FCC has frozen all full-service channel changes from channels other than 51. Even if they hadn't, I doubt W35AX wants to spend the hundreds of thousands of dollars necessary to relocate WOUC.

would 16 (W35AX) have the same problem in akron and would 29 (WAOH) have any issues in cleveland if they switched
post #2532 of 3455
Lots of expense involved in that, too; replacing two antennas instead of one, possibly having to swap the transmitters (meaning downtime).

I'm also not sure 16 could work in Akron with WEWS and WKYC on either side.

Thanks guess the Class A for W35AX does not really matter unless it gets approved Was hoping for something similar to WIVM in Canton would love Tuff TV and PBJ and even other networks from luken like the idea of My Car TV, Frost Great Outdoors, The Nashville Network, My Family TV and networks yet to be announced

They don't HAVE hundreds of thousands of dollars. I wouldn't be surprised if WNIR/WJMP/WAOH-LP/W35AX's facilities were being held together by duct tape.

so i don't feel too bad, seems hit or miss. yesterday was fine. i haven't changed anything about the position of my antenna either. btw i got lucky, the house we're renting must've had a real audio/videophile at some point because an HBU33 type antenna is on the roof (definitely not old), and the finished basement is all wired up in the walls.

btw you're not too far at all i'm near green rd-anderson rd by the park.

Well Howdy, neighbor! I'm on Glenridge at the opposite end of the park from you!

Sounds like you have quite the nice set up there! Oh, you're gonna want to kick me now, because we never even put our antenna on the roof - it's mounted on the 3ft back fence, and the only channel we don't (usually, anyhow...) pick up at that extremely low height is ION!

Are there more than one tv's hooked up to your set up? If so, are you having problems with all sets, or just one? Reason I ask is because our bedroom tv was getting a lower signal strength than the living room tv, causing pixiling and break-ups on the bedroom tv when there were no problems with the living room tv - hubby noticed that the old, existing coaxial cable was crimped and bent in one part, so he went up to Radio Shack to get a better quality coaxial cable and the problem was solved.

Hopefully that's all it is for you as well - it was a pretty quick and inexpensive fix.

So why the switch?

I was watching Soul Train on Bounce. I remember these as being on videotape, the ones showing on Bounce look to be on film.

I had access to a broadband the last few weeks, so I got to view your map Trip. The pattern for 16 would be a bit better rotated a couple degrees counter clockwise to catch the lakeshore along Mentor-on-the-Lake, or is this set up like this because of Erie's 16? This wouldn't be to get the signal out any farther east but to cover a bit more land area to the north.

Any timetable for 16 to light up?

I assume it's designed to protect WSEE-16 Erie.

8-3 and 8-4 disappeared from my tivo the other day i first found them going through the signal strength meter then saw them in my channel list and at times one would display 8-1 on 8-3 and 8-2 on 8-4

When the signal drops on my STB's from a weak signal, it defaults to .3 & on .. ie: 17.1 defaults to 49.3, 25.1 defaults to 26.3 & so on, I'm assuming something similar is happening here. I'm not familiar with TIVO & other monthly pay services.

Such a minute rotation is needed, perhaps a degree or 2 & it looked it would have no ill effects on the west side.. must be the threshold. I'm not expecting coverage from W35AX out here, if I get it, that would be a bonus.
the signal strength on 8-3 and 8-4 were the same as channel 8 also at one time the same thing happened with WVPX on 23-4 and 23-5 with qubo and ion life both appearing the same as channel 8 and i saw on rabbitears that either channel that would appear on 8-3 or 8-4 that is their real channel number just mapped to 8-1 and 8-2

That's good for 3.2. Anything to get that Chinese torture music off the air.

All I see is Commercials... guess they needed to sell more airtime, now I'll have to wait to see the radar. Think Id rather listen to that music, get my info & move on.

Even for as patient person I am (ie waiting 20-30 minutes for my CRT to fire up) I'm inclined to flip away instead of watching the PSA's they are showing... much like I was when 19's weater showed full screen commercials instead of windowframing them during their weather.

Maybe 3.2 is going to change to that NBC Nonstop whenever it goes national
