I have the GE 24734 right now, just a cheap one, but I can not get WJW or WOIO.
This is just for a secondary TV, but I'd like to get all the local channels.
When we first decided to ditch cable, we went with the Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified antenna - it's designed for both UHF and VHF and is amplified. Both WJW and WOIO are VHF channels and need an antenna with the dipoles ("rabbit ears") to pick them up.
We had pretty good luck with that one except, unfortunately, for WOIO, especially in the summer. We could
pick up that channel, but not on a regular or reliable basis. We're located in a heavily wooded area on the southwest corner of Euclid-Cleveland border, about 15 miles away from the antenna farm.
The antenna itself is pretty bulky and awkward to place, but worked well for picking up all but WOIO - we were even able to pick up ION out of Akron on a regular basis! But WOIO was a big issue for my husband - he didn't want to miss the Browns - so we did end up going with an outdoor antenna.
But if the outdoor antenna is not an option, I'd recommend trying the Terk (http://www.amazon.com/Terk-Amplified-High-Definition-Antenna-Reception/dp/B0007MXZB2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
) as it's designed to pick up both VHF and UHF and it's reasonably priced. Your results may vary, of course!
Best of luck to you!
