Besides, fans of the game are much more interested in the other added features in Spec II. The cockpit views were just a small bonus. You're focusing on the wrong things.
To be clear: I am not complaining about the added feature. I retorted to your post to newfmp3 stating that he can't both be dissatisfied with the original lack of inclusion of an interior view, or the poor implementation in the patch. My response to you was, 'Why not?'.
You aren't owed the world when you buy something. I work in the service industry. I know how indignant people can get when they feel that because they have paid for something, they feel they have a 'right' to everything under the sun. But six years and no interior view? What was higher than presentation on the development list if PD wasn't working on interior views?
I don't know what their development/patch priority list is; I read somewhere this year that Yamauchi wished for another two years to complete his vision for GT5. I applaud him for wanting the game to be a limited car encyclopedia (that is, a limited number of cars, but to be as detailed as possible when simulating them). One of the most enjoyable things found in the LCE was the book that came in the package. I carry that little book with me anytime I think I will have down time to read. I LOVE the driving tips in it. I take them to heart when I play GT5 or F4. So again, I an NOT coming from a position of trying to trash the game.
All that said-if critiques cannot be expressed, then no one can complain if PD pulls an EA and releases GT6 with 200 Premium cars and 9,000 standard cars, right? I mean, you don't wanna focus on the little things, right? In my opinion, graphics mean nothing after a certain point. 5,000 polys, 10,000 polys, HDR, MSAA, blah blah blah. Who cares? You may, but I don't. Which is why the limited number of Premium cars doesn't bother me. I wanna race. I wanna be immersed. But there was an uproar when the limited number of Premium cars was discovered and rightly so. After stating that the game sported cars with 100,000 polys (or however many there are in the Premium cars), players were disappointed to discover that the number was limited. If they rectify that in a patch, some will rightfully say 'PD should have done it in the Release Candidate'.
I will bet you this: come GT6, PD won't make that mistake again. Why? Because gamers are voicing their opinion. I'm not here to slam PD; I do think it is weird they didn't put a cockpit view in, especially when their main competitor, Turn 10, had cockpit views in F3.
Recap:1)I started by asking you why a gamer who bought the game can't express his dissatisfaction at the lack of cockpits in the RC or at the fact that the cockpits look generic (you still haven't answered that yet).
2)If a company states that their product is going to be graphical nirvana, don't be surprised when people are upset when they find out you were using carefully worded press releases and semantics to cover the fact that it is not nirvana as advertised.
3)Because of the opinions offered, I am willing to wager that PD won't make the same mistake again, especially the most basic one of keeping up with your competitors.
I focus on the things important to me. You focus on what you want. Problem solved.
