Anyone have "Once" on Blu Ray?

I realize that it's not available in the states, but I'm wondering if anyone has it or has seen it. LINK

We love this movie, but my wife let someone "borrow" it about 6 months ago. We'll never see that disc again...

I'm wondering if getting the blu ray version is even worth considering. Does it look any better than the DVD? Being a low-budget production, one can never tell.

'Once' was slated to come out on BD in the states I think last month. But then it was pulled. I liked the movie, and wanted to buy on on Blu-ray. But even on Amazon, it was something like $34! The movie is good. But not that good. So I had decided not to buy it even before it was pulled.

Must have been a region free (or A) import.

It's available on Amazon.co.uk for GBP11...probably not more than $20 delivered to the states.

I have the UK version. It's definitely worth the upgrade. I think it looks considerably better than the standard DVD. Extras won't play on my U.S. PS3 (except for the two commentary tracks), but I'm glad I upgraded for less than $20.

I've seen it, it looks extremely poor, but its all attributed to the crappy digital camcorder they used. Loaded with HDV macroblocking and banding. But its the best its ever gonna look.

that's true, but as you said, it's the source material. I still think it's a sizeable step up from the standard DVD...

Was the digital camcorder used for 'Once' even hi-def, or is this another case of 28 Days Later?

From the info on IMDB, it was an HD camera. But of course, it was fairly low-budget, so some shots will look better than others. I've been tempted to get this. It's good to know that the extras won't play on a US PS3.
