i then tried just leaving the receiver on the whole time
I NEVER turn my 606 off. If I do by mistake, it will take 20-30 min for my HDMIs to sync up (like a phase lock loop circuit that refuses to lock because the caps are the wrong value). I've had my HDMI board replaced once already under warranty.
My latest news: I finally replaced my Samsung BDP1600 (bluray) with a $49.95 refurb'd Sony BDPS270 (I refuse to pay top dollar for this stuff anymore). The Sony works GREAT!, and the 606 HDMI switches to the Sony much faster
than it did the Samsung. (606 still has to stay on 24/7).
My conclusion: 2-3 yrs ago, the HDMI technology had not yet matured. Maybe it has now. But as long as I'm only getting +/-2yrs from my hardware, I'll buy the cheap stuff. My $50 Sony works great.
Rick, if you're still following this thread: Yes my Z28 is near silver (Pewter). But there is quite an active Camaro community still. There are a few of us around.http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/northwest-members-66/
Hope you enjoyed the concert. The sun's out finally, going to take the T-tops off and take my wife on a Sunday drive through the Skagit valley tulip fields.
btw: After I installed the Sony bluray, I went on the Onkyo site to get the Remote control code for Sony. Onkyo does not even list the 606 anymore. I guess it wants to pretend our model# never happened! hahaha
