Opinions on Marantz SR-19EX

Hello,
I am not kidding when I say that while cleaning out my garage I found my Marantz SR-19EX that I had honestly forgotten about since I moved to Florida.
I am amazed at just how nice the old Marantz Reference series look. The SR-19/18/14 are some of the best looking receivers ever made. Simply beautiful.

I am now at the point of deciding whether to build a guest bedroom surround system or listing it for sale. Not having HDMI certainly makes it a bit of a dinosaur. It does have component switching. However, if memory serves, the resolution of the switcher is not very good. Sound quality is quite good. When I had it in my theater, it was an excellent preamp. Perhaps the best preamp section of any receiver I have owned with the exception of my Pioneer VSX-49txi. Great radio tuner too.

If anyone has been using any of the older Marantz Reference receivers in the past few years, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Especially how they sound with the modern codecs. Having multi channel outs, all the codecs will be possible. What I don't know is if the video processing deficiencies make it worthwhile. I own more than enough spare speakers to cobble together a 5.1 system with it.
Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
AD

Why not put it to use?
I sold a very good sounding HK AVR 520 to my sister & bro in law. Being it was 8 years old they decided not to run video through it, and instead run all their video directly to the HDTV. It has 2 HDMI and 2 component inputs and accommodated their needs nicely.
The HK still decodes DD and DTS and sounds great driving a 5.1 setup.
