I hear great things about the B750 and not so good about the edge-LED TV....What is really bugging me is that my LN46A850 had only 1.9 thickness and this new B750 has 3.1. I really want to know if is really a great TV and a setup from what the A850 offered. I am paying a difference to get the bigger size 52" over my 46" so that's a plus on the B750 but if I go for the LED I will pay more and get the same size but I get the 1.2" thickness. All I really want to know if the LED one is really worth it for the type of money or should I go for the bigger and improved B750, please please anyone with good advice let me know....I am planning on buying this next week. Thank you so much.

Note: I found some pics in Flickr for Samsung LN52B750 go to flickr.com and type [url]http://www.flickr.com and search for LN52B750

Unless the thickness of the set is the most important the 52B750 is the better bet. I'd take it over the 55B7100 I had any day of the week.

I also jumped on the big river. Price is unreal plus you can return it if you don't like it or have them send you a new one due to flashlights, ect.

It's really good to hear some decent things about this tv.....I can't wait....do you have to pay return shipping at big river??? Unfortunately...NY'ers pay tax...

After investigating LCD's for months, I've decided on the 52B750. Several issues made this a no brainer. The reports of NO IR interference was a huge factor for me.

PQ was extremely important though I'm no videophile and small subtle differences which were no clearly evident or discernible were of no importance to me.

TV aesthetics were important. And of course, price was a consideration. All things considered, I felt the Samsung was the way to go. I ordered one from Amazon (Big River) a few minutes ago and delivery is slated for one week from today. My guess is I will get it sooner.

This is a terrific forum and has been very helpful to me. Next stop: calibration settings! I'll hang out on the calibration thread and try to fine tune this thing once I get it.

Thanks to all who contributed.

Cheers

I had a chance to see the LN52B750 in best buy today, and I can tell you it's a definite improvement over the LN52A650 that I had a couple of months ago. I took my flash drive with me that has the plasma break in slides on it, and I ran the slides on two different sets, every color on both sets looked completely uniform. I didn't notice any banding what so ever, and didn't notice any areas that were brighter than others. The A650 had banding in the middle and flash lighting in the corners that was very noticeable using these slides. The colors didn't seem quite as rich as the 111FD pioneer plasma, but they seemed just as uniform across the complete screen. If Samsung can keep their quality control in check, and consistently make sets like these they will have a winner in the LCD market.

stryker... you asked for advise and tantrum... just gave you specifically what you need to do if you want a preview of what a shiny clear panel is going to look with any light -- and you ignored it.

the mirror will spot the same reflection the panel will, and it doesn't matter whether the sun is hitting the wall directly. depending on your sitting angle to the set and the angle to the light source you will see it. if the panel is clear reflective it will mirror the window, if it is a matte it will show the light source as a blob of diffused light.

if you really want to know in advance what you are dealing with, i suggest follow tantrum's advice..

Has anybody tried DLNA with their B750? I've been playing with my 52LNB750 and twonky/Mac. Seemed to work fine for a day (watched an entire movie), but now I am seeing frequent disconnects. I can't even get a few minutes of access before the TV disconnects. There's nothing in the twonky logs so I suspect it's a client issue. (Also tried tversity and others with similar results). My firmware is 2009/02/26_001004.

Thanks.

After researching sets for about 3 months and initially planning to buy the LN52A650 after I saw it with my own eyes, I have just placed my order for the LN52B750. Like many people, I was hoping the A650 price would go down when the new "B" sets came out; however, now I'm glad it didn't. This caused me to seriously look at the B series. I have to admit, because of my location (about 90 miles from the nearest big box retailer) I haven't had a chance to see the B750 for myself. However, the features and specs are what I'm looking for. The comments in this forum have also helped. Hopefully, it won't disappoint.

I know we can't talk prices, but I must say the current big river offer with the coupon code and a combined gold box offer made this a deal I was ready to go forward with. (Although, I'm sure that in a couple of months it will probably be quite a bit cheaper--like all technology. However, by then, I will have enjoyed it for a couple months, so now's the time to buy!).

Are you directly connected to the network with Ethernet cable or are you connecting to the network wirelessly? If wirelessly, you might need to check the router. Sometimes nearby wireless routers might interfere with your router. In that case, change the frequency of you wireless signal through the router setup. It might help.

Use HDMI wires if you want to keep the wire clutter to a minimal.

Welp I successfully returned my UN55B6000 for a LN52B750 today. I've been watching it now for an hour or so. I do miss the extra 3" screen size, but I sure don't miss the dark spots in the corners! This new set pretty much rocks.
So far, I'm very happy with my decision.

Ugh, I still have yet to receive my 52 B750 and av set-up. I'm loosing it. While I got the greatest deal possible, it's an odd situation and I have to wait more than going through a typical retailer.

So I sit here and jealously struggle through reading everyone's praises about this t.v. Hopefully I'll get my install next week. I have a "pre-install" meeting on Wed. just hope everything comes in soon, don't know how much more I can take. It's torturous.

Recieved new unit today works great no flshlights but sides are brighter than middle like all LCD's...One thing though I think the A750 is better with AMP then B750 on Games....No lie...

Yes, they do once it is in your area. At leave for my delivery company (CEVA) they did; then they work out a time for you to make sure it's signed for.

I really dig the new look of the b750's and I'm excited at all the good reports from current owners, but I'd just like to know if I should maybe look at last year's models instead. I have owned a b650, 2 b7100's, and now a b6000 and they all have a squashed dual pip...among other issues. Also can anyone comment with regards to how this years b750's compare pq-wise to last years a750's. Any info would be appreciated.

Just tried the PIP tonight with HD content and it does have 16x9 PIP. Not sure about the dual PIP. Is this same size side by side PIP with 16x9 content?
AV98,

Yes dual Hd 16x9 side-by-side is what the a750 and a850 had last year. That is what I'm trying to confirm on this years b750's. It's one of the options in the pip menu. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

If no one answers, download the manual from the website. Select the model, then, (possibly) Support/download center, then download.

Funny, I was just about to reply the same thing. Therefore, I'll go one better. Page 20 of the User Manual details the PIP options:

PIP - On/Off
Size - large bottom right, small bottom right, 4:3 side by side, 16:9 side by side (at least this is what the icons look like)
Position - bl, tl, br, tr (disabled when in double mode)
Air/Cable - air or cable as input for sub-screen
Channel - channel for sub-screen

I would compare this to the previous models documentation, and you will pretty much have your answer.

Go to http://www.eaprogramming.com/ scroll down the page to where you see download break in dvd images, and just follow instructions.

I just ordered mine from the big A too. Wife said to wait two weeks until we move in to the new house but I'm too impatient.

Has anyone ever had Pilot (company) for the delivery?

I'm working with a theater consultant. They'll be setting up my Integra 5.9 and speakers to get me close to a 5.1. The 7.1 will come later. I think they just want to see what they'll need to get the job done.
As for me getting "ripped off", don't worry about it.
