Schweet!

Not to mention, 0.22 adds VDPAU support *and* HD-PVR support!

Now we just have to wait till Myth 0.22 is released! Sigh.....
Another 6 months or so will pass in no time! Aaaiiiiiieeeeee!

-Mark, who can't wait for Myth 0.22 to be released!

Hopefully .22 will add support for the OTA holographic 3D 4K video that will be the norm by the time that it is actually released

I ROFL'd!

How many years *has* it been since the last release??

To give them much-deserved credit, though, they were the first to support VDPAU, and have worked very hard on it --> http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=123865

I knew it would be better, but that's looks really good! I use myth mostly, but when I want to show off I use XBMC. That wll allow me to show off in myth... I might actually upgrade shortly after it is released (I usually wait a while when I have all my systems working - preferably on packages to be available in an LTS ubuntu release...)

it's an abomination - a mismash of unrelated UIs copied from other sources, with no unifying design to tie them together. It's the Hyundai approach to UI design

They're just showing off what's possible. I seriously doubt any one theme will look like all of those images.

Exactly, it's called a demo theme for a reason, it's sole purpose is to show what can be done. Perhaps Matt should have actually read what was written at the linked page. The default theme will be called Terra, there are screenshots somewhere on the mythtv site; personally, I'm not too excited by Terra, but it's better than the 0.21 default and it's only a matter of time before more exciting themes come along, such as Graphite.

Yeah, some of them were nice pictures... I was just excited that they'd been able to emulate some XBMC themes.

What is HD-PVR?

Recording & playback of HD has been available in MythTV for years, so I assume that HD-PVR must imply something beyond that. Being primarily on Mac OS these days, I haven't bothered to try the 0.22 dev builds (there doesn't seem to be much new for Mac in 0.22). So, I'm curious if there are new features I have missed.

Allows you to capture component output from set top boxes, so you can record for cable and satellite boxes in HD without DRM. Quite useful - it's a way to record all HD stations you receive in HD, regardless of whether they require a set top box to get those stations.

Also, here.

I haven't heard anything lately about its stability or about anyone using it with VDPAU.

There are mythtv patches for the RD5000-HD, as well, which is more $$ initial cost, but it is all-digital, so you're protected against the possible "analog hole" closures in the future.

Thanks for the info. HD-PVR looks cool for cable/satellite users.
