i'm having problems with one of my component inputs. whether i use my cable box or xbox360 i get blue horizontal lines all over the screen. at first i thought maybe the component cable wasn't in good so i checked that and it was in fine. checked cables going into back of cablebox or xbox360 and they to were fine. i also tried resetting tv, unplugging tv and removing all devices to the tv and waiting to turn it back on but this didn't work either. all the other inputs work fine. anybody have any idea what this could be? the status light on front of tv is green and tv seems fine except for this problem. it is a wd-60c9 and it is brand new. thanks for any help.

If you got the same results from different source inputs (cable and Xbox) then they are not likely the problem. If you tried different video cables, then they are not likely the problem. Did you try the same devices and cables on all three of the component inputs? That would be the most obvious reason for there to be a problem with the actual TV input. If so, I think a call to Mitsubishi support would be in order.

Did you try the same devices using a HDMI cable?
Both worked fine on the other component inputs. Cablebox worked fine with hdmi. My 360 doesnt have hdmi.

Ok i called mitsubishi and we tried a reset where you press menu then 1,2,3. It didn't work though. So they want to send somebody out to look at it. I'm thinking about it but am leaning towards returning tv and getting something else. I don't want to start dealing with repairs on a brand new tv.

It's unfortunate that your TV didn't work out of the box. That is not the usual case, and from what I've read (and experienced) these are great tvs. It it were me, I would give Mits a chance to correct the issue. There's no reason to assume that after they're done you'll have any less of a tv that the rest of us. Besides, they may just decide to replace it with a brand new set.

You may want to call the store where the set was purchased and see what they want to do. Let them know that you can still return it now if they're not willing to make sure you're satisfied. They may elect to just swap out your set without getting Mits involved.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

I hope this hasn't been answered. I bought a Wii and from time to time like to hook up old consoles that don't have a seperate optical cable (to go straight to the recevier) to my 73737. I have analog Red and White cables going from the output of the TV to my receiver. But, whenever I connect analog stereo cables to input 1, 2, or even #3 on the side of the TV, the screen flashes a message- only audio ouptut will be heard from the TV speakers or something like that, and it won't pass along audio to the receiver. This is a pain in the butt because some consoles have cables that I can't split to the receiver and TV at once. Any suggestions?

With my new 73 C9, was wondering if there was a way to import more controls onto my verizon fios controller, especially the volume? Getting a little tired of jumping back & forth between clickers.
one thing that annoys me about this tv is the cabinet will pop or make other noises throughout the course of a day as it warms up or cools down. It reminds me of my old 32" crt days. Its a minor complaint just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?? I love the tv tho and i don't regret it one bit.

I'm just about to pull the trigger. I went to Fry's today and the have the WD-73837 for $2099 and the 82837 for $3100. I got them to give me the 73" for $2200 out the door wiht free delivery and no recycle charge. Now I need a stand. I can't see spending $300 on a stand. Thanks for any help with the stand.

I have noticed it on my 73C9 a bit. I almost wish I didn't see it on this thread because I probably wouldn't have noticed it or not even been bothered by it if I did.

I have tried using some of the sample advanced settings for the other models, but was wondering if anyone has settings for the 73C9 specifically.

Also I noticed a weird problem with any widescreen movies. The black matte along the top of the screen is not lined up properly. The image appears to slant on a slight diagonal all the way across the top of the screen. After taking a measurement of the start of the widescreen matte on the left to the the right it was almost a 1/4 inch difference. Rather annoying. Is this something that can be fixed with the service mode adjustments?

Lastly, I noticed that there is a significant bleed of whites and bright colors into the black matte at the top. I think I saw this somewhere else in the forum but not sure.

Any help would be great. I just got this TV from Amazon a few weeks ago, but don't have the box anymore, so returning it probably isn't an option.

Thanks.

Follow the instructions in this manual. You have to program your remote for the TV. I think the 3rd mitsubishi code works for the tv (but try them until they work).

My 73 inch is on a coffee table. It isn't made of glass and doesn't have fancy drawers or cabinets, but it supports the TV just fine.

Same here, just a sturdy coffee table is all that I use, with the proper height so that your eye level is in the sweet spot-I have my cablebox on a footstool that slid right under the coffeetable-looks fine-the $$ saved can easily pay for the best blue ray player & a dozen discs!!

Thanks, great find!! So the Mitsu code that would work on a c9 would be the "0834"?

This is the stand that I got.

http://www.tvstands.com/CRX-2V-64-x-...an-PT0147.html

It is a full size stand for the 73C9 (or other 73 inch models). This stand costs $200 with free freight delivery. It only comes in two colors, silver or black. The thing is, they want $150 more ($350 total) if you want it in black. I bought the silver one, and a $7 can of Rust-Oleum Universal Advanced Formula Black Satin paint (not flat, not gloss, but Satin). Very easy to do and looks professional. You can also order a set of four small casters. This allows you to pull the TV and stand away from the wall to help in installing equipment. The middle glass shelf can be placed in one of three different heights to install equipment of different sizes. This is a heavy duty, well made stand (just over 100 lbs.) Part of the way down the web page you will see a link to a PDF document from the manufacture that describes the product. This is the cheapest 'full size' stand I have found for the 73 inch models, and one of the better made ones.....

I've had my 65C9 a couple months now and never noticed any popping from case expansion/contraction.....however, our old 36" CRT in the bedroom pops loud enough sometimes you'd think someone shot off a starter's pistol.

I have a 65737 and have looked for this anomaly in letterboxed BD and am not able to see it (but I'm not complaining). Perhaps this issue is limited only to the larger (73" and 82") models?

Mine is a 60737, so no. But again, if I don't watch it with the lights off in the room at night, I can't see it without looking pretty hard and continuously for it (which of course I don't. . .I'm watching the movie!).

Tried the first step where you press the TV key & OK key, but it wouldn,t blink twice to indicate reset ready-??? I even did the "Reset remote to orig settings" steps-no change-am I doing something wrong??

My 73737 doesn't do that nor does have any other issues mentioned in this forum. I also had the 65737 and it also had no issues. I believe and was told that the c9 series are made with cheaper parts.

Thanks! (I'm the same way....too busy watching the movie! If I don't know it's there....I won't miss it!)

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new TV and was wondering when you predict these models to drop in price. Kinda regret I didn't jump on the deals around Black Friday, but am looking forward to the next round of price drops. With CES at the beginning of January, I was wondering if you all predict the prices to fall shortly afterwards or should prices remain roughly the same till the day the new models are brought in?

Hoping I can get a 73 for 1100-1400 or a 83 for 1500-2000 eventually....

There is an analog output, and there is a digital output for analog sources. If you connect the analog audio out to your receiver, refer to page 22 of the User's Manual

Selecting an Audio Output Device
1. Press MORE and then 9 (AUDIO). (on remote)
2. Press (up arrow) to show the Speakers option. The Speakers option will display only if there is a recognized audio device on an audio or HDMI output.
3. Press (right arrow) to select either AV Receiver, Headphones, or TV

If you connect the digital audio out to your receiver, you should be able to have your receiver decode it (provided you have a receiver that can accept and decode a digital input).

I've read every post on this thread, and that's the first time I've heard that one. In fact, in many posts it was stated that they are identical to their 737 counterparts, except for the label and possibly some firmware differences.

It's annoying, but again not a dealbreaker. It just "creaks" or whatever adjective you want to describe it. Maybe because it's the winter time, as it's cold in the living room in the morning until i turn the furnace on, and during the day the tv housing will snap creak pop whatever i guess as it warms up.

Well, I'm wondering if it's a case of the screen not being properly mounted in the frame, or the bezel not being properly seated or something similar?

Perhaps a call to the Mits folks is in order?
