Suggestions on how to fry receiver

Thread Starter
I have a service plan on an older 4 year old receiver that is expiring this month. I'd like to get it replaced with a newer model before it expires under the plan. Can someone suggest how I can fry it so it's unfixable so they will just give me a new model instead of fixing the old one. Thanks

That is your opinion. I see it differently.

I'm sure you do or you wouldn't have posted an intent of deception in a public forum. Doesn't make it right.

Wow...

That's what I like to call a flexible moral code.

Talk about being a sociopath! The guy has 2 posts and he's looking for someone to help him do something dishonest, immoral, and illegal. I suggest you stand on your roof and hold a metal rod during a lightning storm.

The word commonly used for that is "fraud".

From Wiki...

"In criminal law, fraud is the crime or offense of deliberately deceiving another in order to damage them – usually, to obtain property or services unjustly."

Really? How do you see it?

Get a large paper bag and place 1 lb of flour inside to which has been added one tbsp each of black pepper, salt, onion powder and paprika. Spray the receiver with PAM and then place it in the bag to shake. Remove the receiver and place in a large tray that contains one dozen beaten eggs along with 1 cup of milk so that all sides are coated. Remove and roll the receiver around a tray that contains seasoned bread crumbs that contain Parmesan cheese. Holding the receiver by the cord, fry on all sides in a large enough pan containing canola oil heated to 350F until golden brown.

When you're tired of your current girlfriend or life partner, I have some suggestions from Klaus Von Bulow.

Usually, I never respond to single digit posters as they tend to hit and run forums looking for quick answers, most times not even a thank you. Lock this tread.

I say a mod pulls his/her info and reports it... Think of all the time you or somone you know has spent on hold with CS of a CE company or in line at a retailer - this joke is the guy who is wasting their and our time. I'm opperations manger for a small locally based CE retailer, I see it as fraud I would call the police.

Or you could have just let the useless thread die instead of reviving it after no one has responded for a week. Even the op hasn't been back since he didn't get the response he wanted.

Woes me. All I have to offer this guy is Wesson oil and Phil Spector's E-mail. The hardest laugh in a couple of months! I needed it as I live in Detroit where prosperity abounds.

Lowlife, I have repaired various types of equipment for over 20 years and the person repairing your receiver will almost always be able to tell if it was a simple failure, neglegence, or an attempt to ruin an item. Do you really think they see items that are "unfixable" as you put it that often ? Such items are victims of a surge, lightning, etc., not a typical failure. I see items every day that are broken or neglected and I bill accordingly or it simply never gets repaired. I can guarantee you'll get your receiver back repaired or they'll say it was abuse and you'll get a broken receiver back, which I hope is the case... unless you are talking about Best Buy.

Please state your description and the name of the store (I'm assuming BB, since you stated '4yr service plan') and it's location. ---So I could contact them and give them a heads up WARNING that you are about to RIP THEM OFF!!!

Have you thought about putting the AVR up for sale and give someone who cannot afford or does not want to pay for 'new' a chance to upgrade. Remainder of the coverage would sure make a good selling point as I am sure its transferable!! No wait, that's bad advice! ---- For you-- because you have no respect, are selfish and have no morals. Even with brands I can't stand, I sure as heck wouldn't even fathom doing such destructive acts.

Hold the receiver plug in one hand, then place fingers in the outlet with the other hand.

But then again, it sounds like your brain is already a little fried. :~

Man, I'm glad there are people around that want to protect Best Buy from getting ripped off by the public...

They rip people off every single day of the week and a lot of that with extended warranties...

Get off your high horse.

Everyone has the option to turn down everything they sell including extended warranties. What this guy is doing is totally different. Its this type of slime that ended Costco's policies about returns. Mods should have deleted this type of post immediately.

I would said the same thing for 'ANY' retailer. If you don't like BB, don't shop there. My point here is bringing up the OP's criminal intent. He might as well been stealing CDs from the store.

Priceless indeed!

By the way it was people like this guy who forced Costco to change their very liberal return policy for electronics. It's still a good policy but it used to be much, much better.
