Anyways I'm done talking about your problem. I come here to get real information from real experts and regular folks who actually give their tvs a chance. Hopefully you'll stay in this lil thread u created and spew whatever u want to while leaving others alone.

The only being a "douche" is you...you're the one who can't make up his mind what tv he wants in the store and stick with it.

Like I said before you like the attention whether it's positive or negative. U like going to BB and other stores to make a scene about a tv u just purchased and then yell and scream to return it for some made up issue.

So what if he wants a new tv every 6 months. If he's got the money, he can do what he wants. What's the difference between what he does and the same 3 people who debate on who puts up the best pictures of their Kuro? Leave the guy alone and get a hold of that anger.

Anyways, I went to BB and asked when they get the 55". Neither salesguy could find it on their warehouse computers. He did try like hell to sell me the 46" though. Which is odd because it's not a Magnolia store.

Yeah, they looked it up to see if they can order it, but it wasn't in that warehouse computer. The 46" was and they said that they actually had that in the store.

The 55" is actually a mag sku, the 46 will be carried in all Best Buys. My local one got there's in today along with the B750 and had them on display. I'll pull the trigger on one of these sometime next week.

I'm looking to order one from a non magnolia store can you post the Bestbuy sku for the tv? Can you get the sku for un55b8000 from your friend?

I want the 55" sku for myself. bestbuy skus are 7 digit...

Best Buy has the 46" and 55" sets updated on their site, but they have red TOC. Is this wrong?

ok so now that the smoke has cleared....how about some impressions on how the PQ is compared to B6000/7000. what's up with that?

Do the B8000 TVs use different panels than the B6000/B7000?

So Best Buy has the 55" for sale in the stores while all the usual suspects on-line (abt - crutchfield - avs sponsers) have no sets for sale. Very interesting - wonder if the same thing will happen with the 55" B9000 set.

I'm not saying that stores have them in stock, but the 55" wasn't on the website yesterday. You can add it to cart, but type in your zip code and I bet your store doesn't have it in yet.

I was at the BestBuy in Riverside, CA at lunch, and they had the 55B8000 on display next to the B7100. They had set it up last night. It was outside in their regular display area, not the Magnolia section. It had a silver base, no red that I could see.

Yes I understood what you meant. However, my local store(s) has a ton of TV's that the Best Buy site says is not available -- that feature of their site leaves a lot to be desired.

In fact just for kicks I searched for the Sammy A950 in a 20 mile radius - search said NONE of the 6 stores have it -- yet my 2 closest stores have them on display and in stock since they came out.

Awesome, thanks my good man. My B6000 is one happy puppy until the B9000, B950 comes out. And that's what I thought also, it makes sense. Sammy did good with the Luxia (at least to me and that's all she wrote). At least I won't have to consider returning to bb for now. Heck by then, I'll pass to one of my siblings.

My decision was down to the Sony XBR8 and the 55B8000 and I visited Magnolia a few days ago to compare. They indicated that the 8000 would not be available until May 10 so I wasn't able to compare the two.

When I learned of the XBR8 price drop this morning I headed back to BB to make the purchase. Much to my surprise, they told me that one 55B8000 arrived and I could take it home today.

The 55B8000 came home this afternoon. Could not justify the $900 difference for little, if any, sacrifice in PQ.

One important note is that I almost passed on this set because the dimensions posted on various online retail sites indicated a height of 39.25" with the stand. That height would not have worked in my built-in cabinet. I found it hard to believe that the stand would add 7" to the height so I had the sales rep pull up the specs before buying and their system showed a height of around 35". The actual height on the pedestal is 34".

Another tip that came in handy was to stop by the post office and pick up a change of address kit. BB has 10% off coupons inside that saved me a nice chunk of change.

Haven't had a chance to play with it yet but here are a few pics.

In your B8000 pics I see you have the dim corners. My UN55B7100 has this, and there is light flashlighting. I returned this set to get it replaced for a new one, and it does the same thing. Why do these sets do this? I think it is a great TV as I switched from plasma to LCD. Now I am questioning my purchase.
Does anyone know how these sets compare against regular WCG-Cathode LCD's. I had the chance to get a Sony XBR-9 52". Now I am wondering if I should have went that route. The Samsung has an amazing HD/Blu-Ray picture, but the dim corners and flashlighting do bother me. I wonder if they will fix these issues. Let me know how your set is doing. It would be nice to compare the 2 models.

UN55B8000 finally started coming in and out in small numbers

I just turned on my new set and I'm watching I Robot on Dish and it's pretty cool. The commercials are sharp too. Anybody have settings?

The remote doesn't work so they are sending a new one. Normally I would be freaking out, but the pq is so amazing its almost OK.

Will watch 2001 later.

so...now that you have it do you think the PQ is much better than B6000/7000?
