Which Samsung LCD TVs have matte screens?

In shopping online for a Samsung LCD, it's frustrating that the TV descriptions don't specify whether the various models have a glossy or matte screen. Because of windows opposite the TV, I need a matte or semi-matte screen. Can anyone point me to a source that lists the various Samsung LCD models as to type of screen (glossy or non-glossy)?

A4xx, A5xx, B5xx don't have ultra clear panel (the glossy one).

real matte are the old models like R8xB and similar.

for my parents we bought a A436 ang its panel istn't glossy bun not as matte as my R81B, we still see a little window on it.

if we had bought the a6xx it would be like a mirror

The 630 series has a semi-matte screen

OK, then: The A65x, the B65x have ultra clear panel. The 5 in the middle shows the clear panel The one with 3 in the middle have probably semi-matte screens.

But all A4xx, a5xx, B4xx and B5xx have semi-matte screens as well....

confusing...crazy

Are the glossy screens preferred by the general public?
I personally like the Matte look. Is it just because of the greater textured blacks with glossy lcd's?

Its because the colors pop more and the black levels and contrast are increased. Whatever it is when watching in the dark the picture quality is much better than the matte screens plus when the TV is off it looks sexy compared to a dull matte screen lol.

glossy seems to be the trend for tvs and computers. I think they look better at retail stores not always at home depending on lighting.

I got rid of my first HDTV years ago because it had a protective plastic cover that made it look like a mirror. No way I'll ever go that route again!

Bump, any updated info on this?

I have a LN52A630 and love the semi-matte screen. On top of that I absolutely HATE glossy screens. I am in the market for another TV and would like to stick with Samsung. I am considering just buying another A630 if I can find one but specs seem to have improved and prices come down slightly since last year at this time

Right now I am looking at the B530, B610, A630 and B630.

I am assuming the B630 has a matte screen since it is the 09 version of my current set. Does anyone know for sure about the 530 or the 610? I don't use most of the extras my A630 has which is why I am considering the B530 and the B610.

I had a B610 and went to a B750 and was worried about the ultra clear panel in the 750, but wow, it makes a difference, in a good way. As long as you don't have sunlight or bright clear light directed on the front of the set, you don't get much glare. Again, it all depends on how your room/windows/lights is setup.

Thanks for the info but personally I don't think the glossy panel makes enough of a difference to outweigh the reflection problems it brings. My A630 is in my Family room that has large south facing windows. A glossy screen would be impossible to watch during the day. The set I am shopping for is going in a 12' x 41' foot basement and will be mounted in the center of the long wall so off angle viewing and reflections are a concern. Some people like glossy screens, I am not one of them.

That being said Samsung Q&A says the 530, 630 (I know) and the 610 all have the semi-gloss screen I am looking for.

What did you think of your 610? Do you still have it? What it the difference between it and the 630?

I highly dislike the shiny screens as well. Incredibly, they are even putting them on laptop computers, where the performance improvement would be a non-issue for most people. In fact, ALL of the laptops I saw at a store recently had those awful glossy screens. What are those idiots thinking???
