I could really use some help here. I'm not an audiophile and I'm a novice when it comes to home electronics.
I purchased a pn58b540 at Costco a couple of months ago. When I got it home I noticed that I was not the first owner - the accessories were in a ziploc bag and the warranty card was missing. Probably should have returned it but I didn't feel like lugging it back, so I figured I'd take a shot.
I thought the picture was great for about a week, until I noticed a couple of vertical lines on the screen where the edges of non-hd pics are. Is this something common with plasma tv's (this is "burn in", correct?) I ran through the manual and found out about a "scrolling" feature which is supposed to get rid of burn in - I'm running it now, to see if it works, but I'm frankly inclined to return the tv in any case.
Were it not for this problem I'd be perfectly satisfied with this tv. Do I have a lemon, or is this something common with plasma tv's, and should I be looking for an LCD or LED set instead? We watch mostly broadcast tv, some hi def, some not.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
