I just got this set tonight, very good price for it.
No banding, blacks seem black on the newer serial # sets, like this one. I compared one floor model in one store, where the blacks were greyish, to one with a newer serial # on display in another store and it was night and day.
The problem I'm having is when I threw in a DVD, it looked good, but it's so damn dark. Also, the screen seems to be making its own adjustments, it goes even darker, or lighter and not from changing scenes in a movie.
I have the auto-adjust setting off for different lighting (OPC), so I don't know what's going on.
This would be a deal-breaker for me if I can't fix it. I turned the brightness up, but I can't seem to adjust it to my liking. If I turn the brightness up to where I can see everything proper, it's very faded.
I didn't notice this problem as much watching regular TV. I don't have my HD-Box yet, getting it tomorrow, but I might want to hold up if I can't get this fixed.
Any ideas, or thoughts? Similar experiences?
